Katsusauce Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Started my next slow build. Monogram's 1:25 1959 Cadillac Convertible. 6
Katsusauce Posted December 14, 2022 Author Posted December 14, 2022 A little more work on the motor..... 5
Katsusauce Posted December 14, 2022 Author Posted December 14, 2022 Chassis is covered with Roth Metal Flakes "Jazzberry Pink" 4
espo Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 You really need to warn people to put on some sunglasses before the look at the frame color. That is bright alright. 1
Joe Nunes Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Great start! I can hear Pink Cadillac being sung...have fun with this build. Joe 1
TransAmMike Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Great job on the engine, and ohhh yeah, that is one bright color on the chassis.? 1
darthsideous Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 I love the work you've done so far. Looking forward to seeing more progress. The engine looks great. 1
slusher Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 Nice work looking forward t the body paint… 1
Katsusauce Posted December 23, 2022 Author Posted December 23, 2022 Okay, main color is down. Tropical Glitz "Coral Reef" over Splash Paints 2k white primer. Still deciding if I want to shoot some pearl on it....and if so, what color?!? Maybe purple pearl? ?♂️ 2
Katsusauce Posted December 23, 2022 Author Posted December 23, 2022 Put on your sunglasses, chassis pic coming......??? 2
Steve H Posted December 23, 2022 Posted December 23, 2022 Hi Derek, Wow! Yep that’s a pink Caddy. Looking good. I like the idea of purple pearl, although it looks really good as is. I’m guessing this will be down in the weeds based on the rear inner fender removal. Looking forward to seeing how you progress. Cheers, Steve 1
Katsusauce Posted January 28, 2023 Author Posted January 28, 2023 Took a break from this build to do Tom Daniel's Red Baron. Now the 59 Cadillac is back on the board. First up, finish up what I can on the chassis, then on to the interior 1
NOBLNG Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 Great work all round. The dash and interior are exceptionally nice.? 1

gman Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 That is looking extremely nice- my vote would be let the base coat metallic shine through clear. You could do test sprays with clear pearl/purple pearl on spoons or a scrap body, but it would be a shame if it subdued the brilliance of the metallics already in the base coat. 1

Yes, I've been testing on spoons. I haven't decided if I want any flakes or pearl to the base coat yet. And yes, leaving it as is is also a real option. ?
Katsusauce Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 So, I mentioned that I would change up the dash just a little bit. I really wanted to bring it to about 1979 with a Cassette Deck..... Not everyone will agree with this, but I like it. I'll probably throw a Cassette tape on the trans hump or something..... 2
