martin9428 Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 This is my first kit like this. There are two instruction manuals which have to be compared, in order to figure out what parts to use, and what parts not to use. I bought this book by David Parker which is loaded with great pictures of actual Tigers and his build. I have made a couple mistakes and was able to correct one, the other I will have to wait and see if I have to correct it. s

martin9428 Posted December 19, 2022 Author Posted December 19, 2022 starting the interior. The first mistake I made, and it's only because of my inability to go slowly and get impatient. The first mistake is the driver's side shock, which is backwards and will stay that way unless it bothers me, or it's in the way. Second mistake were the torsion bar supports, which were supposed to go in before I foolishly, permanently, cemented to torsion bars and swingarms. I was able to cut slits in the supports and slide them over each torsion barLesson learned
Ulf Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 (edited) A challenging project. I've been taking a break from armor models for a few years now, but last Wednesday I took a day off to look at this one. A chance for ones in a lifetime. There are also a few models in the museum, including a scratch(metal) built 1/8 King Tiger and train car. It has to be one of the most accomplished projects in the hobby world. This is a 1:1 diorama… I repeat The yellow King Tiger is real 1:1. The camouflage painted King Tiger is a 1:8 model. The overturned truck is real 1:1.? I will be following your King Tiger build going forward, maybe it will be a relapse for me. You have the best reference books without a doubt. Edited January 8, 2023 by Ulf
