Slotto Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 My inspiration is this... I know, it's a '36. The paint is olive green with a little black mixed in. The body was then sprayed with Krylon matte clear. I managed to detail up the headlight buckets and running boards and install them The frame is just about done without the suspension. Engine is painted up and partially assembled. I guess next I'll finish up the engine and set the ride height and work on the suspension Painted up the headers and exhaust I brush painted the air filter and taillight assemblies because I was too lazy to shoot 2 smalls. It wasn't worth it to me to spray them and clean the gun. The 2 red dots are the taillights. Stay Tuned...
KWT Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Looking good already. Can't wait to see what you do with it 1
Slotto Posted December 30, 2022 Author Posted December 30, 2022 I wanted to keep the suspension that came with the kit but boy is it flimsy. Keeping it box stock, I could see that the spindles would be popping off of the control arms so I reinforced the situation with some pins. Getting that low life look was pretty easy with this suspension. All I had to do was snip a little off the shocks.
Slotto Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 The ride height is just about there I layed down some carpet Now that the foundation just about sorted out, I'll fab up some sort of differential and run in the drive shaft. Moving right along 1
Beamerman Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 Really nice! I will follow this..great work! 1

Keef Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 I’m loving this! Love the color and the wheels! 1
Slotto Posted January 4, 2023 Author Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) I scabbed together a great differential much like I did for the '40. The drive shaft that came with the kit will work without any mods. I know, it's a little early in the game to mount the taillights but I got anxious and had to see how they would look. You know i was never really big on the prewar cars until now. Edited January 5, 2023 by Slotto 1
JollySipper Posted January 4, 2023 Posted January 4, 2023 This is probably my favorite kit! What you've done looks really good...... 1

Steve H Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 This is a really cool build Steve. Love that down in the weeds stance, and the extra detail on the motor looks nice. Great work! What is your flocking material for the carpet? Looks great. Cheers, Steve 1
Slotto Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 Thanks Steve. I bought a big bag of red and black from an ebay vendor. I wasn't sure what a 4 oz. Bag would look like. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. The label on the bags say www.Craftflocking.com I brush on Elmer's white glue to mount it.
Slotto Posted January 7, 2023 Author Posted January 7, 2023 Shes done. Finished pics are here. Thanks for following along
