My Current Projects

It's been a long time since I posted any pics here, finally decided it was about time. I'm just posting a pic of each of my current builds, maybe later I'll start individual build threads on each.

First up is a Minicraft 1/16 scale 1935 Morgan Three Wheeler. I have to say this is the worst kit I've ever tried to build. The molding quality is downright deplorable and the fit of many of the parts is horrid. No wonder the original Entex released sells for big bucks on ebay, the molding quality must be much better. I must want a model of a 1935 Morgan pretty bad to suffer through this styrene catastrophy! ! hope to have it ready for the box stock class at GSL. Today I spent all morning racking up all the parts to send to the plater's

Next up is a Revell 1958 Impala. Except for the body mods I'm keeping this build pretty simple. I've generally shaved and smoothed the body, including filling in the weird scoop in front of the rear wheels, the rocker panels, all the chrome trim around the fins and the roof scoop. I've frenched the tailights and added a couple frenched antennas. I shortened the side trim and scratchbuilt custom fender skirts. It will probably get a set of lake pipes as well. The rest of the kit will be built mostly box stock with some mild detailing. At this point the body is just about ready for paint. It will be getting 5 coats of candy green over a gold base, the roof will stay just gold.

And lastly, a Revell 1929 Ford Pickup. This is based on the '3 n 1 kit and I'm going with the closed cab version. I'm in just the initial mockup phase on this one. For the most part the build will be kept simple except for the flathead V8 swap from the Revell '32 Sedan kit. The engine trans is already painted because it's a refugee from an abandoned project. The only mods so far are the engine and trans mounts to accomodate the new drivetrain. I also moved the rear crossmember so the spring could be mounted behind the axle instead of on top of it to get the lower stance.
