Modlbldr Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 I started this over 20 years ago (guessing 2001 or 2002) right after AMT issued their new 60 Starliner kit. It began with a Sketchpad drawing by Jairus Watson. When I saw it I knew I had to build it. I dug this out late last weekend and sorry to say it got stalled so many years ago at the paint stage. Everything else is finished. I am determined to get it done. It ended up with terrible orange peel and I began sanding it down. Then I hit a snag trying to make more realistic hoses for the air induction system. The hoses kept wanting to straighten as they dried and then would crack when I tried bending them into place. I sanded a bit more of the peel and re-filled the sink hole in the roof from the dome light. Today I mixed up some Tamiya X-4 Blue (darker than I wanted, but it will be fine) and airbrushed the body. I see I need to resand the scratches in the roof and shoot another coat on it and the hood. Again, the interior and chassis are done, although I may add a simple roll bar. I used some cigarette foil on the dash since it had the right texture, added a seat from the 64 T-bolt and a resin fire extinguisher with a pull pin I made from fine wire. Engine is from the T-Bolt and my first scratchbuilt headers from solder over 20 tears ago. I'll let the body sit until my next chance at the bench on Wed morning. Then I'll re-sand the roof and spray my final coat. Later- 5
