Faustus,

Neat quiz here! Really makes me appreciate the crafting that went into the construction of the early Star Wars movie props. Most of the time they flew past the camera too fast see details anyway so what was the reason?

I agree, the first one is a suspension part that was flattened out... maybe from a metal toy chassis or slot car. The second one is a diesel truck air cleaner.

Why the questions anyway? Are you building one of these movie props?

Oh, and could you please post your real name in the signature box of the Profile section. Thank you!

keep the ideas coming guys!this is great-i knew i came to the right place!!

i really appreciate it-part of the fun of building this thing is interacting with modelers across the board.ive learned alot and have grown very fond of car and truck models just from this experience.

the other part is tracking down the models like a dime store detective.ive been able to find almost all of these models.i figure i have maybe 10-20 to go. that is--if i dont go crazy first:P

you are correct John-there are a lot of military parts on the model as well

ive asked for some help from them as well

believe me when i say that EVERYONE that i receive help from will be mentioned when i finish this beast.i feel im pretty much ahead of the game having accumulated over 90 out of the 100(in 3 months) and some odd kits needed for this build(not counting dupes).

Tim-any and every kit that you can remember for trucks being used would be highly appreciated

id like to send more pix if you guys will allow it

thanks again guys

Post away! If the pics are large enough, we can scan the area for big rig parts. I see lots of car parts in one of the photos, items that look like funny car structural pieces.

John-i wanted to ask you what truck model would have this air cleaner

i figured that it was probably an old style truck-most of the more contemporary ones i see have a different type.also-are these 2 different parts or all part of the same structure?

Let's see - The basic aircleaner can be found in any of the AMT conventional (not cabovers or COE). What's in your pic. is modified. The Ford Louisville (pretty much a dime a dozen) should have one.

For the frame frame rails, a frame rail is a frame rail is a frame rail. The only real difference between one truck kit and a another is the length. Think you meant to ask if both #1 and #2 are truck frame rails.

#3 sure looks like a diesel engine oil pan. Can't say for certain which one but I'm guessing an AMT KW COE.
