crowe-t
How does the GSI Creos Mr. Airbrush Procon Boy PS-289 airbrush compare to an Iwata Eclipse or a Grex airbrush? I keep hearing great things about it.
ctruss53
I have heard good things about that airbrush as well. The problem is after using many different airbrushes, I have gone back to the Iwata Eclipse because it is a unique design. It has a floating cone-shaped needle seat. This allows you to assemble, and disassemble the airbrush without tools. And the floating cone-shaped seat is easier to clean.
StevenGuthmiller
Can't tell you how they compare, but I have a PS-290 and I like it. Steve
Dave G.
It all comes down to personal preference, at least assuming decent quality airbrushes to begin with. And the only way you truly come to know this is by using them. I can tell you about my own personal issues, mainly little tiny screw in tips I have little use for. Give me big stuff or slip in but nix the tiny screw in tips. Regardless what brand it is.

Dave G.
The Procon 289 as it turns out has the tiny screw in tips, not my personal cup of tea.
DiscoRover007
I have the PS-290 and its fantastic. I also have the Iwata CR and previously had an Iwata Kustom Eclipse CS, the Kustom was good but the 290 is better. The CR is fantastic for acrylics and interior/engine stuff. Very easy to clean. The 289 looks to be a similar type of air brush. I wouldn't hesitate on creos stuff, they are well made.
