Here's a 1950 Ford convertible I just finished. I was going for factory stock and according to color charts, Ford offered a light grey paint in 1950.  Duplicolor primer/sealer seems to be pretty close so that's what I used.

Looks great and I like the original build style. As a young man I had owned a couple of these Fords, but no convertibles. A suggestion on the Hood. Seems as if you may have used the filler for the custom version that would eliminate the bump to clear the center of the factory grill causing your hood to not close.

You're correct about using the filler instead of the "real" hood ornament.  I wasn't paying attention at the time.  I actually put the hood in a baggie and froze it overnight but the filler piece wouldn't come out, so I left it.
