The black engine and the black wheels sure compliment each other nicely.

The primer does have an appealing look to it, but I'd love to see some color contrast with the black. I am sure whatever you decide on, it will look great.

Thanks for proving me wrong. You've made that huge engine fit pretty nicely. Lovin the look of them wheels as well. As usual with your builds, it looks pretty darned nice already.

I appreciate it Buddy.  Thanks man.

Yeah, I'm really diggin the black.  I think I'll wait to revell the color later on.

I did a mostly stock '34 coupe a while back and went with red-oxide primer. I liked how it came out. I covered the red primer with Dull Cote to give it some protection. Testors also makes a nice flat red that I still have a new can of.

I hear ya.  I did a 40 Willy's pickup in red-oxide primer.  Still tossing around colors on this one.

I'm getting down to the wire now.  I got the interior completed.  Doing some final checks and tomorrow may be the day to get some paint on the body.

Looking great. Truly can't wait to see what color you decide to go with. I can think of several that would look good.

Thanks Kyle.  I'm cutting my grass now so I can paint tomorrow.  The weather is suppose to really be good and dry tomorrow.

Beautiful interior Bob!

Thanks Roger.  I'm getting pretty close on this one.

I finally got some paint on the body.  It was in the Dehydrator on Friday for about 20 hrs.  Wednesday I'll need to sand the paint a little to take out some of the grain then I'll shoot the clear on.

Great color choice. That goes real well with the black.

Thanks Kyle.  Yeah, I think the more black I put on it the better it looks.

I appreciate it James.  nearing the end on this build.

Started the wet sanding this morning and the Revell enamel paint was coming off down to the primer using 2000 grit with very little pressure.  It shouldn't be doing this so I'm sanding the body and going with another paint.  Oh well....I'm use to this so it's not really bothering me at this point.

I avoid using enamel paints like the plague. I believe my last was some NASCAR spray cans that worked well enough. On softer paints, I'll start with a #3200 grit.

I use only spray cans, too lazy and a lack of a dedicated model painting area. In the past 15 or so years I have used almost exclusively Tamiya TS sprays, Duplicolor, Mopar (eBay), the old Black Gold products.

Thanks man.  Just a minor setback.

I really like the Testors enamel paint though my airbrush but the Revell enamel just didn't work out for me.  I do use Tamiya TS spray cans on the smaller parts but not on the body.

Well...this is starting to bother me now.  What a mess.  This was the second time to paint the 34 and I'm just not having any luck.  This time I used Tamiya X-14 Sky Blue, 50/50 mix thinned with Mr. Color Leveling thinner, 20-25 psi, about 4" away while painting.  This will be my last time then I give up.  I'm going to use the same paint but at a 2:1 mix and thin it with my over the counter lacquer thinner.  I'll leave the air pressure at 20-25 psi and hope for the best and expect the worst.
