59 Impala Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 I am building another land speed car and this time it's a rocket car. I painted it flat black and then painted it a pearl gold powder mixed with Future over the black and this is how it looks now. It is a drop tank from an F111 made to accept a canopy and scratch built the rear wheel pods. Hope ya like it Thanks fer lookin. Dan
59 Impala Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) Thanks Jose. This is another one that I used the Future floor wax on. I mixed the pearl powder with the Future and then sprayed it on. It works great every time. Dan Edited March 7, 2009 by 59 Chevy Impala
59 Impala Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 Not much of a how to. All I did was to add some pearl powder (that I got at Michales craft store) in the Future and spray it thru my airbrush. The Future is already thin enough to spray and the powder really doesn't thicken it up. I understand that the name has changed from Future floor polish to something else but I don't remember what it is called now. Maybe someone here knows the new name. You do have to be careful when spraying it on because it is so thin and can run easily. And you just spray it as you normally would spray any paint. Hope this helps. Dan
59 Impala Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 Another one finished. WOW, that's two finished in the same day. For me that's almost impossible. Anyway, here are some pics of this one. Hope ya like it. Thanks fer lookin. Dan
