THarrison351
Another one started over thirty years ago and put away. This one was missing some tiny pieces. Mirrors, lenses, and decals. I created new door mirror glass out of plastic stock and foiled them. I stole the interior mirror from a Mustang low rider convertible that I've stolen other parts from. I'm still missing the fog lamp lenses. When I opened the box it turned out I had glued the aero kit on as well. The included extra wheels and tires looked terrible. I don't have any modern low profile big wheels, because I don't build those type of cars as a norm. I decided to strip the stock wheels and paint them black. Not great, could use a bigger tire and be lowered. The color is Testors Sapphire blue decanted, and sprayed over flat black. The red body stripe is the body plastic covered in BMF. Then I sprayed the body flat black and covered the body molding in more BMF and masking tape. The only drawback was this new BMF leaves a sticky residue you have to remove. Painters tape worked for me. The interior is a mix of custom gray with with Tamiya TS15 Blue and flat lacquer. I used those glue on instrument decals you can buy on eBay. Not great, but better than I can paint. I was in such a rush to finish it and post tonight, I forgot to put on the license plate. How I found it in the box. Those wheels

espo
Great looking color and finish. The factory ground effects usually don't look this good on real cars or models, the front end especially look good to me here. Like the interior and engine detailing. TransAmMike
Very nice job Tim. I fought the headlight install on mine till I finally gave up and reboxed it. Maybe one day it will get done. I had a real '87 but in black with the red interior. Was a fun and comfortable ride with quite fun when the turbo kicked in. Againmikewins
For the missing fog lamp lenses, try a couple drops of white glue or the Testors window/canopy maker. Great job on this one.
Zen
Looks great! Have one of these in the works also but will be using 5.0 Coyote power. Did you have any issues with attaching the body to frame with front & rear bumpers attached?
ncbuckeye67
Excellent restoration. That paint is flawless!

I used to have the later SC and a Mercury XR7, but I sold those on eBay. Monogram really did a good job on 80s and 90s annuals. On 10/1/2023 at 9:11 PM, Yeah Nah said: Turned out great in the end. Once I glued the windshield and interior tub in, I slid the chassis into place until it was all aligned and friction held it. On 10/3/2023 at 11:06 AM, ncbuckeye67 said: Excellent restoration. Chuckyg1
This is an all around nice build. The color is perfect and the accent stripe compliments it nicely. The detail work is very good. The black wheels give it a bit of a bad boy vibe. Very nice.
