6bblbird Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I've been able to replicate a few of my full size cars over the years. This was my 2009 Challenger R/T and the replica that I built. 7
Flatout Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 Beautiful replica Walt…do you still have the real one?
Dave Van Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 My 1999 Concorde from a modified AMT snap kit. 3

Dan Hay Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 The model, and out in my garage a few minutes ago. 6
6bblbird Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Ooops, meant to say "Thank you!" This is the 2013. I'd like to build a copy of this one but I need to find a shaker hood for it. Don't know if there is a 1/25 scale hood for this car. 6

Watertown Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 '55 210 sedan I owned a number of years back. Model represents the car with full caps and whitewalls, as I added those to the 1:1 at some point, but never thought to get a picture of it with that swap. 8

6bblbird Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 I bought this 1974 road runner GTX second hand in 1974. The original owner didn't realize how much gas the 440 used !☺️ 7
espo Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 They are both beautiful looking. You were able to get the body side stripe and the wheels to match. Building a model of your favorite or present car is always fun.
JJ Deuce Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 this thread reminds me to get busy on a couple of kits I have to replicate my old cars.
iamsuperdan Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 The only one so far is a 1991 Chev C1500. This is what my wife was driving when we met. Combined one of the AMT 454SS kits with an AMT promo kit. Did some frame stretching, and here we go. 2
Mothersworry Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 My '98 Mustang GT Coupe that I bought new in July of 1998. As of October when it wuz stored fer the winter it has 10,630 miles. The car has never been in rain, snow, salt, or in dirt and is almost completely original. The model is a AMT 1997 Mustang GT coupe modified to '98 specs. 3

As you may know, I factory ordered a '74 RR E58 360 hipo....mine lasted 16 years ang 140k+ miles...could have easily gone longer but good ol' Mopar rust did its deed. I ran Cragar SS type wheels on mine too (except mine were wanna-bes; couldn't afford the real things).....TB 1
tim boyd Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 (edited) OK, I'm game. Replica of my 1/1 2007 Mustang GT convertible....identical to the 1/1 other than wheels... Replica of my 1/1 scale 1987 T-Bird Turbo Coupe..... Replica of my factory ordered 1974 Roadrunner E58 Hi-Po wedge....exact even to the factory cruise contral servo under the hood...ps - keep scrolling down past the blank space...) Here's one I really wish I could have built as a bi-scale model...my 2001 Jaguar XK-R Coupe....(keep scrolling down past blank space...): Best...TB Edited November 8, 2023 by tim boyd 4

I think it might be a tie with my current '13 Challenger. It did everything well. As a bracket racer at NY National Speedway, I won so many times that they literally kicked me out! Lots of great memories with that RR. I sold that '74 in 1976 to make way for a '69 A12 road runner that I recently sold. Gonna show my model version of that one too.

DanL Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 My 70 1/2 Z28 and the model I built last year... not my best work but it's not bad. 4
Bills72sj Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 I still have my 1:1. My buddy commisioned a wooden version of it in probably around 1:18. I made a 1:25 scale version with a marginal skillset years ago. I even made a 1:64 diecast from a Johnny Lightning. I now have correct 3D printed rims and another mint unbuilt to take another swing at the 1:25 version. 2

6bblbird Posted November 9, 2023 Author Posted November 9, 2023 This was my first car (1971) I bought it with the money I saved from my paper route ($750). Can you imagine a kid being able to do that today? The model is how it would have appeared when brand new. I had a vinyl top put on because it was often mistaken for a NY city taxi! ? 2
