I’ve decided I will build a Monaro gasser and use the moebius 65 nova gasser as a donor kit I ordered this morning a hk Monaro Body but I already gave the colour picked out as well it’s SMS paints apple green pearl but here it is on my 62 poncho IMG_0652.thumb.jpeg.8e4e93ed87eab3af0b0a84544f13ad28.jpeg but I know what your thinking a hk Monaro gasser why? Well I’ve chopped off the front and decided the colour which is Outlaw paints Candy Green IMG_0665.thumb.jpeg.d6d08afd5eb74c08c31200d32a0f446b.jpeg

but if you look at a hk dashboard it’s quite similar to some of you yanks Chevys at the  time image.thumb.jpg.fe6a9f0760297b56f44d727fa106c433.jpgit’s not the clearest  but here’s one on the net IMG_0666.jpeg.d9656172fe1ee89d5605f6580075483a.jpegthis is what we call a flash dash as it goes to 140 mph where as base model ones are 120

Very cool, who makes that body?

It’s a copy of the parts box resin Monaro but I got mine from scale hobby supply Gold Coast I think

Very cool Brock!  Seen a lot of tubbed ones (both 1:1 and scale models) but looking forward to seeing a gasser version.  Nice idea brother.

Well not much progress but a few mock-ups and some work on the dash but I’ll show that later but I’m thinking wide Steelies in the back but with maybe amt parts pack pie crust slicks. But I love the steelies because they have the look of a aussie race car at that time IMG_0720.thumb.jpeg.dd448279618c4e2bcfda8794db951c58.jpegIMG_0719.thumb.jpeg.c57ebaf0f7d584bd4980a5748df2f28a.jpegIMG_0722.thumb.jpeg.1d6b45a7ce5ca48c3f9cc2ba6adc4d6c.jpegIMG_0721.thumb.jpeg.38290a3fba650a23d6c35d41be1d5952.jpeg

Great little build going on here.  Love those Gasser.  I have a 51 Henry J SD Gasser on the bench now.

I think I’ve started a hk Holden drag combo what do I get myself into. The Ute will be matching the Monaro and it will use a amt 68 el Camino as a donor kit. But I’ve got the suspension and interior basically done on the gasser anyway that’s all for now hope you enjoy.IMG_0785.thumb.jpeg.1542165696d62f0472fb1f357cbfb141.jpegIMG_0776.thumb.jpeg.b5642e12de9b77a69199e67e2fcf3ccf.jpegIMG_0748.thumb.jpeg.83313564c82529e4bf1d3be36324550a.jpegIMG_0749.thumb.jpeg.feadb0593b935512547df395dd55c75f.jpeganyway that’s all for now

Started on the hilborn injection for the big block. But it will also be getting them gold Moroso valve covers.image.thumb.jpg.3eaac994b8ddab217a47acaf9a0715d2.jpg

I’ve also finished the wheel arches image.thumb.jpg.6af054d673e8eff82fd86a5b801c177f.jpg headers are needed to be made and the body needs to be the candy green and black paint on it. But that’s all for now.

I can’t make my mind up about this so it will be my version of an iconic hg Monaro but as a hk Monaro gasser/pro stocker. It’s the Carac Speed Shop Monaro from the 70s 80s. But here’s some pictures of that Monaro and others  as well as for you ford guys xw and xy falcons at the time. IMG_0884.jpeg.48bf8fb1e16f577eea463cad6c31d121.jpegIMG_0885.jpeg.eaa3314833330522e80716659a7a48a1.jpegIMG_0889.jpeg.b6dac86993026b8cab3343b63fcf77db.jpegIMG_0886.jpeg.a4e115e149200d191a5f4c7f683fa268.jpegIMG_0888.jpeg.52d567bce9f4b3cc3edf6f532654ce78.jpegIMG_0890.jpeg.0cdb5829e44dc1c6f497a5f1e4d9d01a.jpegIMG_0895.jpeg.362af49df711f91640c9c006fda3c36f.jpeg The one below is a hg premier which the hk premiers hold a special place in my heart as my dads still got his one he built back in the day.IMG_0894.jpeg.dffc64bb77fd2c102f331545d847b50e.jpeg

Hey I like what you've done looking at your stuff it makes me think you must be from Australia I've been a fan of the Holden and some of the other cars in Australia for a long time I wish we could get some of those in America. I was bummed when I heard that Holden was closing down but I heard the interview on the Holden side and I kind of understood what they were talking about I got a piece of it here in America on the GM side and I was kind of bummed out and pissed. For a while I was getting the Australian magazine Street machine where they were showing what you guys were doing in Australia and I thought it was neat so seeing what you have I'd like to see it finished.

What I also had my eye on was that little panel truck you had in the background in a couple shots I've got a weakness for panels. Also since my very first car back in the '60s was a 54 Chevrolet sedan delivery I stuck a 57 Corvette motor in it.

Just out of curiosity who manufactures the Holden kits because I would be interested in some of them and some of the other cars produced in Australia. Is there a company that has a kit for the piranha car? That one I probably would have to buy at least two or three one for myself and one for my nephew he had a Capri and his dream was the drop of V8 in that car and when I told him about the piranha he loved it. Could you show me some of the boxes of cars that are available in Australia I'm curious to see.
