Yeah Nah Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Originally built this as a stock but wasn't really happy with it. I thought if I'm going to strip it back I might as well do the kit supplied drag version with it's worked Buick V-6. Glad I did! I'll revisit the stock version later with a second kit. 12
1930fordpickup Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 I like this a lot. Ollies has these if you hurry to get a second kit. 1
Zippi Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Pretty kewl looking Opel GT Gasser. Great looking color and I like the "BAD NEWS" decals. 1
PappyD340 Posted November 25, 2023 Posted November 25, 2023 Very cool, I always wanted an Opal GT when I was a teen but never got one! 1
David G. Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 What a cool idea! Excellent work, it looks great! David G. 1
TarheelRick Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Sweet little gasser, really like the idea of the V-6; should classify it in H/G. A side story, when these were first introduced they were compared to the Corvette in appearance. A friend of mine bought one. When he came by to show it off I asked him who had washed his Corvette in hot water and shrank it. He was not amused, crawled in his "mini-vette" and drove off. 2
Sledsel Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Nice job!!! I just grabbed 2 of these and wasn't sure why! LOL 1
TransAmMike Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Always liked the little "baby" Corvette. Great looking build Garry? 1
MADmodelDOCTOR Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 I built one of these way back. Looked like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH! Nice build! 1
Big John Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Very beautiful and clean build of one of my favorite cars Garry. Back in the days (early 70s) I was able to stuff a Potvin blown 427 SOHC Ford engine in one of these AMT kits. Had to notch out the foot wells a bit but it fit pretty well. 1
Zippi Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Switching this build to the drag version turned out Super nice.
Rattlecan Dan Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Great looking little build. You did a really nice job on it!
Steamboat Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Very nice! Clean and lots of attention to detail. Well done.
alan barton Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I missed this the first time around so great to see it today! I started one about ten years ago but got bogged down building a new frame. This is just the inspiration I need to get it going again. Great proportions and I love the colour. Cheers Alan
