looks great but the rear wheel arches would have been cut for the tires and the battery would have been in the rear for weight distribution .

model on !!!

I hear ya man but I like the wheels tucked inside the fenders.  More of a modern style drag car.  Your right about the battery but it wouldn't be seen and it helps fill up the engine bay.  Just more eye candy on a model.

I appreciate it man and thanks for the info.  I'm not really concerned about it being period correct.  Just as long as it looks kewl.

Absolutely! It's looking good, so far!

A very cool project and a respectable challenge. What you've put together so far looks great, I can't wait to see how you make the rest of it work.

But it's like I say:

Thanks David.  You are probably right.  I do create enough probably for myself.

After getting some primer on the 51 a couple days ago I just took a close look at the body and noticed a chunk of resein missing on the bottom of the front fender.  Not sure what happened there so I pulled out the Tamiya putty.  Just something else to slow down the build.  Before I sprayed the primer I washed the body down with Dawn and let it dry.  Just before shooting the primer I wiped the body lacquer thinner.  The primer seems to be holding to the resin pretty good.  So far.

Coming along nicely, Bob.

Thanks James.  I'm liking this build so far.

Well, I was doing a finial clean up on the body this morning in preparation for painting later this week and noticed that the front fenders have started to warp inwards.  The radiator support across the front is supposed to be straight.  The hood no longer fits so I'll have to leave it off.  Man....this build is slowly going down hill.  Final coat of primer is on.

Thank's Roger.  I'm just not sure this one is going to turn out like I wanted.

I've had some success using hot water dips alternating with cold for resin but I've never tried on a primered part before. I hope you can save this. If not, I guess there is always the kit body...

I appreciate the info man.  This one is going together the way it is.

Good progress on this one Bob, nice catch on the fender ding.

This one seems to be fighting you every step of the way but I'm sure you'll get things worked out and come up with another one of your high quality builds.

Thanks David.  I think I've already pulled the last rabbit out of my hat for this one ?  It's getting some color today.

Since I won't be using the 51 Henry J body and hood I did a little mock up with the Extra wheels & tires that came with my M2 56 Ford pickup.  This would be some what of a curbside.  Might be a pretty kewl little build.

That's pretty crazy looking. Looks like a cartoon pro-stock. I hope you build it.

It will get built.  I did the same thing with this 55 Chevy Cameo.  Yup, looks kinda cartoonish.

That would be cool. Maybe you can find a big ole rat fink driver to stick out the top.
