LDO Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 ... LDO do you mean the porsche 961?... No, I mean 959, The sketch for a 962 road car had a rounded nose with 959-style intakes on the corners, and 959-style headlights. I did some research and found out it was a Schuppan 962CR, by Vern Scuppan, ex-F1 and Le Mans driver. The sketch looked better than the production version of the 962CR. 962CR. Note the flat nose with 959-style intakes facing straight ahead. Also note headlights. They are simply clear covers for normal headlights, whereas the 959 had specially made headlights. 959. Note intakes/vents on the sides of the front and rear. I think the 962CR would have looked a lot better with a more rounded front and rear. To be fair, that may have been ruled out in the wind tunnel. If it looks cool but goes airborne at 230mph, it's not really a successful design. Here's a gallery of the 962CR "production" car: http://www.supercars.net/gallery/129612/1132/1.html
