bluestringer Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 This will be my first build for 2024. The 1998 Daytona win number 3. Got the paint on, and got the decals ordered, should be here next week. 1
MarkJ Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Good start, James. Looking forward to following along on your build. 1
bluestringer Posted December 31, 2023 Author Posted December 31, 2023 Got the decals yesterday. Got most of the chassis/cage done. 1
bluestringer Posted January 1, 2024 Author Posted January 1, 2024 Finished the chassis. Started working on the decals.
bluestringer Posted January 6, 2024 Author Posted January 6, 2024 Decaling is going slow. It takes almost 30 minutes sitting in water for the decals to release. And some of them are breaking apart trying to get them positioned. No more Power Slide decals from Mike's for me.

He would probably be happy to send you another sheet. It's not his fault if Powerslide sold him a bad sheet. Mike is probably the best vendor we have. Edited January 6, 2024 by MarkJ 1

It's the powerslide decals I was referring to. But It was taking so long to get them to release I started leaving them in the water too long and apparently that was causing them to break. I have now figured out about the right time to leave them in to get them to release and stay together. So it's working out.
MarkJ Posted January 7, 2024 Posted January 7, 2024 Looking really good, James. I think you have mastered these finnicky decals. Great save on them.
Johnny Canuck Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Isn't Mike Herman the owner/operator of Powerslide decals?
