Modelcitizen Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 1/43 scale diorama of a Gulf station in the summer of '69. Scratch built structures, made of basswood. The "wall" on the right is plaster of Paris. The cars are AMT kits. The gas pumps, mailbox, newspaper rack, signage, oil cans and such are all scratchbuilt. The figures, from various sources, were modified and re-posed. 9
Anglia105E Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Lots of detail in there Ed for a 1:43 scale diorama . . . very nicely done too. Detail such as the figure inside the phone box are so good. David 1
NYLIBUD Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Hold on,this photo is crazy.Thats real, gotta be,the girl on the phone,,looking at over and over. Its wild.Really good job on the whole thing.
TarheelRick Posted December 31, 2023 Posted December 31, 2023 Excellent build, plenty of details to keep the eyes searching. Even down to the "Nixon Now" bumper-sticker on the phone booth, and all in 1/43 scale. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 The amount of detail in this is incredible! There are several stories being told in this display.
Mike C. Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 Cool! Reminds me of working at Steve's Avalon Gulf summer '87 '88.
alan barton Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Surely if a picture says a thousand words, a 3D scene must say a million? This is a sensational diorama in any scale but when you realise it is only 1/43rd scale, it is tremendous! Cheers Alan
