M W Elky Posted January 9, 2024 Posted January 9, 2024 All of these are built from the revell kits . The Kenny Goodell car is painted with testors lacquer and covered with slixx decals . The slotted rear wheels are from my parts box. The REVELLUTION is built straight out of the box painted testors enamel white and French blue. The Hawaiian is also box stock and painted with testors lacquer with clear coat. Until next time thanks for looking ?, Mike 7
Dr Crapologist Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Wow! Nice piece of work replicating that cover! I got the Revell Revellution Duster 85-4118 and Slixx's decal to do Goodell's purple Duster. While I appreciate anyone's efforts to make aftermarket decals, they printed the upper panel in purple. The handfull of photos I've observed indicate it is a purple car with that upper panel in orchid. It looks like you went with a more blue-ish color to get a decent contrast. I may do that. Slixx suggests using the Competition Resins body. Did you go that route or find the Revell body was adequate? Thank you! Doc

Doc Doc I used the 2010 Tom McEwen Navy duster as this issue has a revised chassis and interior tin . The body also sits a little lower on the chassis. I also sometimes cut down the roll cage parts that are over the drivers head to get it sit even lower. I find the body to be accurate enough. I really don’t know if the comp resin body is that much different. I personally wouldn’t spend the extra cash on it. The color is definitely more purple looking in person for some reason the photos give it a bluish hue. I most definitely used testors one coat lacquer . I almost always use readily available hobby or hardware store rattle can paints for convenience , and so others can easily replicate it . If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask . Mike

Mike I also moved the engine forward slightly about a 1/8” to 1/4” and I made a new drive shaft
