I started this project awhile back from the Supernatural kit.  I was so delighted to see a model kit of a FOUR door Hard top.  Such a rarity amongst a sea of convertibles and Hardtop kits.   I have a clear vision of what i want  to do.    Butternut yellow,  fairly loaded with options.  SBC to replace the kits BBC.  a powerglide automatic.  Power window,  Air conditioning, P/S, PB, tilt steering column, wood grain wheel.   Mag Style wheel covers with white stripe tires.

Going to have to do something about that front seat problem!!!!

this is where i left off about a year ago, body has been sitting drying.    PPG OMNI single stage GM paint code "Y"  butternut yellow.

I built a factory correct front seat called a "Strato-bench"  available on sport sedans and caprice models.   i used 2 bucket seats from the SS427 HT kit and built a center section and a folding armrest.   I own a real seat like this so i got the details as close as possible.

Im also wanting to build a complete factory AirConditioning system.  I had to scratchbuild the 3 vents in the dash with evergreen

Some more of the kitbashing components involved.   A parts bin 327 SBC with a resin cast Powerglide. I scratch built all the A/C compressor and brackets and front drive pulleys and belts along with a PS pump and belts.   Qjet for the 327.

You will also see a tilt steering column with woodgrain wheel option. and a scratch built AC condencer and  a parts bin AC style fan shroud and heater box

Finally back working on this.  Slow progress, but interior is mostly done.  I ended up having to remove the rear seat speaker because SEDANS do not have it(only HT and Conv).  that was a bit of a set back.  Also the front windshield sucks in these kits so i am still working on a better solution( i have cut off the 6" thick vent windows, so thats a start)

This pic shows the rear seat fixed without the speaker.  I also scratch built a rear window defogger to the package shelf.    Note my power window switches.

I was having trouble finding tires to fit the Revell Z-16,  15 inch Mag-Style wheel covers.  I ended up with some 1/24th G70-15's that will be perfect.  the redlines painted in well.  I detail painted the wheelcovers with some black and silver for a more realistic look.

getting a little further on this but i keep forgetting to take pictures.

I fabricated up all the A/C plumbing with thin solder and a bunch of seed beads for the valves.  scratch built the relay and wires along with the vaccum pot.  The A/C firewall heat box is from the 65 impala kit. I made the Frigidaire decal in photoshop

Finally got around to finishing this one!!!    I still have to put on the IMPALA logos and letters on the quarters, but otherwise its done.

Made up a ficticious order build sheet with all the options i scratchbuilt.  Really happy with my choice of 1/24 scale tires.  they fit the Mag style wheel covers just right and fill up the wheelwell like a vintage bias-ply should.  I added a rear antenna, and in the end decided to keep the front and rear bumperguards.

The dealer decal is Alex Irvine in Scarborough Ontario, and i added a OK used cars tag in the mirror and for the front plate.
