Turbo590 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Guys, When it comes to actually detailing/and or painting the hydraulic sections for lets say for a dump truck body, front (telescopics) what would you suggest? I have a few ideas of my own. I am open to your imput..there are alot of great modelers that contribute to this forum.. Also any tricks of the trade for the hydraulics to free stand? Stock plastic componentsand or possibly modified Thank you to one and all. Kurt McLucas
mackinac359 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I have used Bare Metal Foil to cover the sections. Make sure that the opening for the sections is wide enough to clear the next section so that the foil doesn't peel/scrape. Tim
dieseldoc Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Here are some pics of the hydraulics on a twin cylinder wrecker boom. This next pic is a scratch built boom extension cylinder valve Here is a pic of the cylinder and rod end painted. The chrome rod is a kit supplied part. Hope this helps
