Since I've joined I am totally blown away by some of the kits some of you are building I didn't know they were available in the US so I thought I would throw this out to the other readers of Model Car Mag I'm looking for VW the one on the trailer and the SP2-3 powered by Fiat it was Brazil built also type 147 postal model Volvo 544 u/p, 1800 and the one with the split grill the Gasser photo is body I want in a wagon and other one is Siata 208CS Barton roadster, 208s roadster this is the secretary's car Steve McQueen owned one of these his little Ferrari also a Spring last car they made in 1967 I've seen one a take off of the thing by Volkswagen, 200 Balboa red car and Siata abarth. If you guys don't know about this company this is very interesting reading the history this guy 10 years before Carroll Shelby produced the AC Cobra this guy had a car a secretary's car with a four-cylinder motor Fiat and dropped an 1100 cc Fiat V8 in it in 1953 the owner of the company was a Grand Prix racer just like Carol Shelby.gplus-213155577.jpg.bbdcbb33558cecbf398c96e48f2f5fbe.jpg

A search in Scalemates would be a good start.  It has listings for resin, plastic and metal kits from the last 90 years.  Once you narrow down when a kit was made the next challenge is of course finding one.  You may end up searching for custom 3D printed ones for more off beat subject matter

The dannenhauer and strauss isn't available anywhere and to build one you need 3 kits and some vision. You will need the front from the revell porsche 356 speedster, the rear feander from a cord and a tamiya/revell/polar lights beetle. I've been gathering the parts to build one.

For the sp2 there are 2 3d printed kits and one printed body. Both kits have major flaws around the rear wheelarches but the 3d printed body from king3d is pretty accurate. also the sp2 had a type 4 vw engine not a fiat engine. I have files for most vws, vw based vehicles and parts, and if you are in the uk i can supply prints too.

i dont have files for the type 147 fridolin post van

The volvos are available in prints too but some need to be rescaled from military models. I found a pre war volvo sedan that looked pretty good last night and i've seen the amazon and p1800 on cults but volvos aren't something i look out for.

The Volvo delivery wasn't called 544 because the 544 was the regular sedan, the station wagon/delivery was a PV 445 (split windshield) later P 210 (one piece windshield) Duett and the pickup is most likely also based on the PV 445 as it has split windshield.
They look similar but there is one big difference between the PV 444/544 sedan car and the PV 445/P 210, the PV 444/544 sedan is a unibody and the PV 445/P 210 is a body on a separate frame.

Volvo model kits are rare as hens teeth, particulary the older ones, and all I have seen is resin kits.

I really like that style of Volvo I just thought they were the same but thank you for the knowledge I have for it so that if I start looking it up again as a reference I'll go right to it maybe.

Well I live in Sweden and have seen these around as there were plentiful on the roads in the 70's.
Some 3D printed Volvo PV Duett and Amazon is starting to be available now on the market.

I really appreciate your help on this! At the time I was searching for hot rods or customs that people are doing in other countries I'm from America I grew up in the beginning of hot rods in America I have seen or read about American car and personally I get bored reading about the same things Time after Time with people post and collecting photos in Google search. Google thinks all I want to see is American hot rods even when I put cars from Sweden that are customs or hot rods they give me American hot rods I finally through digging hours ran across some of these cars. But I like see foreign cars that have been customized or made into hot rods rather than American cars that are in that country the other people have done.

Oh you asked me who manufactures the Corvette model that was a AMT re-release it's the same one they were leased back in 1960 after I bought it and cracked it open I realized that when I started looking at it I remember the axle going through the motor I think I remarked about it and somebody else remarked to me about it but that's an EMT kit and the color is infernal red that is a Chrysler or a Mopar color.

These are available on Tradera.com to buy. Files are probably available to buy some where. Its a forum member that sells them. And the tires in the last pic is my design 😉

A gentleman who builds real cars (current project is Speed Racer) and restores exotics, makes resin models, name Jim Simpson.  He is a Fakebook contact of mine.  Think he did a Saita so I will try to remember to double check.  I'm blown away by Anton's post above, amazing what 3D printing is doing for our hobby.

Thank you for sharing what you have here both these body styles I am looking for as a kit. The sedan delivery especially I like sedan deliveries my first car was a 54 Chevrolet sedan delivery did I used to race on Wednesday nights at Lyons drag strip in Wilmington California. The pickup I just thought it was neat looking and the one I used to have photos of was with a blown four banger motor in it with a tilt front end suicide doors and a lift bed I thought it was cool looking . but that last one the wagon the newer body style I remember somebody in one of the towns I used to go into he had one of those and it was chopped the headlights the tail lights we're frenched it was a in processed a full custom I never have gone back up where it was to see if you'd ever finished it but I liked what the guy was doing he was a young kid. How well did the parts fit for these kits that you have shown and how complete are they.

Thanks for posting all the cool photos!

The other three are Siata 603 roadster Steve McQueen owned one of these roadsters and owned a Spring the last they car they made the red one is a 200 Balboa I would like to put a little 289 cobra motor in one someone did and that one may be the one that someone did put a 260 cobra motor in. This company has quite a racing history that most people don't know about the guy that created this company in Italy was a race car driver in the early days of racing Grand Prix and one end of the money he made he created by building frames for race cars and bodying them. I remember reading about this company back in the early 60s about the time Shelby came out with the cobra Hot rod magazine get a real nice article on this company and Carol was a fool for not trying to buy this company back in 1967 this is a secretary's car it started with a four banger and this company in 1953 dropped 1100 cc Fiat motor V8. That's where Carol got the idea with the AC Cobra from this guy since Carol race Grand Prix so did this guy in the early days. All these cars would be 1100 cc Fiat motor came to America the dealer in Los Angeles was at the European car show and fell in love with it and bought every car built and had them shipped to America. 300 is the rarest one to find now with the crosley motor and transmission in 1955.
