Scale-Master Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Replica of a friend's car. Pretty much out-of-the-box except for the wheels and the removal of the molded in Euro style front license plate holder. Was a bit of a challenge to paint all that black trim on a pure white body, no room for error. It is a revamp of an earlier Snap-Loc kit, and the molding is not as crisp as we've grown accustomed to from Tamiya. Still better than many models of it's original era, and the fit is as nice as you'd expect. Paint is TS-26.
crispy Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Mark, that looks awesome! Your buddy should be very happy with it. I cannot belive your black work, especially over the white. Perfect. Chris
Bill Riblett Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Very nice! What are the wheels and where did you get them?
ismaelg Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 WOW! That perfect black trim really stands out! Very nice!
Scale-Master Posted October 17, 2006 Author Posted October 17, 2006 Thanks. I did actually shelve this one for a few weeks after I first started freehand painting the black trim. Hand painting can be rewarding, but it can also be stressful. Went back to it and only painted one piece of the trim per day. That worked out as a good pace for this model. The wheels are from a Tamiya 911 GT2, tires are the ones from the '88 Turbo kit.
