Kruzn Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Something different! Entex 1959 Triumph TR3 body on Revell Thames Panel gasser chassis. No mods to the chassis, but the body is requiring some massaging to get it to fit correctly. I kept the Olds engine from the Thames, but swapped the fuel injection for a tunnel ram. Tilt front end coming up next... 15
Zippi Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 That is differently different for a Gasser but I'm diggin it so far.
FoMoCo66 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Yep, that's pretty awesome! Keep up the good work.
ColonelKrypton Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Awesome indeed. A very interesting mash up of of good ole British iron. cheers, Graham
Reegs Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 (edited) Back in the '60s that would run in /MSP (Modified Sports). I forget when the NHRA merged the class in with the Gassers. Can't wait to see how it comes out. Edited April 28, 2024 by Reegs 2
Moparman18064 Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Really cool concept and build. In real life, that would be a real handful to drive. I am following along.
Kruzn Posted April 30, 2024 Author Posted April 30, 2024 Front end cut off. Now to build new firewall and make a hinge for the tilt.... Also switched the front wheels to wires as a tribute to it's British sports car heritage. 7

The Anglia worked out great for this build.
drippingoil Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 That is a great idea, I can't wait to see it finished.
Kruzn Posted May 5, 2024 Author Posted May 5, 2024 Slow progress, too many other things going on. I did manage to complete the custom firewall and the hinge for the tilt front end. 4
customline Posted May 11, 2024 Posted May 11, 2024 This is very cool, Dave. I don't imagine there was a whole lot of this sort of cars back in the day but anyone who had the guts.... Here's a photo of one such car that was seen running at New England area strips in the '60s. I found it while looking for other stuff. I remember seeing this car one day while picking up parts at Norwood Motors. It blew my mind. It looks like it was classed as BM/SP. 3
customline Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 The guy who built the one in the Leno video, I believe, is the same guy who built the Norwood Motors car in my post above.
Bainford Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Cool build concept, and it is coming along nicely. This kitbash works much better than I thought it would. It's looking really good.

Or, at this race, a C/Dragster. Back then, strips made a lot of their own rules, and, often, cars would be classified to fill a class, etc. 1
