Let's all pull one more unfinished model off the shelf and finish it in his honor! Thoughts? Got to be that, and also include Snake-Fu for anyone who doesn't have longstanding WIP (?!). Not a full rebuild, but a bit of extra detailing and TLC of a 'pre-loved' kit?
Straightliner59 Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 Since I originally started this six years ago, and Snake liked it, I would be more than happy to share it in a "Bring Out Your Dead" tribute thread. I've been back working on it for a couyple of months, now, but, if you'd allow it...Here's our interaction about it:
Exotics_Builder Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 I just pulled out the Revell 69 Camaro Pace Car to get back at it. Started the base paint and engine detail. 1
oldcarfan Posted May 25, 2024 Posted May 25, 2024 How did I miss this? Whenever he responded to a post or comment, he was always kind and helpful to me. I pray for his loved ones. Going to miss him! 1

Something along those lines would be perfect, as most folks have long-standing projects......... I should mention that the idea of a build for Snake wasn't completely my idea, as another member had mentioned it first.......
tim boyd Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 (edited) Yikes! Yet another stalwart of the hobby moves on. I echo the thoughts of all above. Godpeed, Sir Richard! TB Edited May 29, 2024 by tim boyd 2

It would be the greatest tribute to our lost friend. I have been working up a list of my unfinished projects. Have a couple of potential candidates. I would offer to manage it but I'm in the process from recovering from several surgeries and my primary focus is getting my strength back. Hoping to get back home in a couple of weeks.
Tom Geiger Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 I would be honored to kick it off! I believe I already have a worthy candidate on my Shelf of Shame! Give me a few days. 2 2
FoMoCo66 Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Love the idea, Snake would love this. Sadly I just finished up the last of my box of shame inventory. The most unfinished one I'm not working on only needs paint, this means I won't be able to participate.
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 2, 2024 Author Posted June 2, 2024 Sure you can participate. It's not finished until it's painted. 1 1
Keef Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I’m in too! I’d mentioned it to a couple of other members in private and it seemed well received. Gratuitous pic of my “Shelf of Shame” included.
bobthehobbyguy Posted June 3, 2024 Author Posted June 3, 2024 I don't have a shelf of sa Hame. I have a wall of shame of projects(approx 100) stalled due to a variety of reasons. The range is from peppered and ready to paint to complex projects that have stalled due needing to figure out some aspect.
