tiking Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 (edited) I was asked by a returning client to build a third diorama using Drake 1:50 scale models. He wanted a road train diorama placed in an Australian outback scenario. This is the outcome. Edited May 18, 2024 by tiking 4
espo Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 Very realistic looking. Looks more like photos of a real setting than a diorama.

TarheelRick Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 The only way I can tell this is a diorama rather than a real deal is the lack of tadpoles in the mudholes. Excellent work and very ambitious build, especially in that scale.

RCScaler Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Hard to believe this is 1:50!! Awesome as always! Great job! Just curious, how long does it take for you to complete a whole dio like this start to finish?

I could have done it in less time but there were many unforeseen circumstances.

1959scudetto Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 (edited) Excellent idea of making a truck train getting stuck in the mud and then pulled out of it by a huge Cat dozer - you're really the diorama king, Charles ! So much to see here and so many details to discover... Edited June 7, 2024 by 1959scudetto

Straightliner59 Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Shepard Payne was always known as a great dioramist. I seriously don't think his work was anywhere near what yours is. Always a joy to see your work!

But I thank you(humbly) if you think so. 1
