So I started this project back in 2018, some time after Sean Kiernan came forward with the Bullitt movie car. It started out as a triple build, right now the plan is to finish 2 models: the fictitious car depicted in the movie, in the condition it was in right before the chase, and the real/existing movie prop/survivor car that was eventually auctioned off in 2020.

Minus the camera mounts??

Using one Revell Bullitt kit and a Mustang 2in1 kit, which were purchased before (or came from a batch before) the correct '68 interior parts were added by Revell, so some takeaway food tray foil work was necessary on the door cards and rear seat back, in addition to a LOT of scratchbuilding and modifications...

Like the idea for your build. The chase scene set the standard for movie chase scenes in its day.

Progress on the wheels with scratchbuilt drums and rotors.

Also played a little with my ACME rust powder ?

That rust looks so good. Did you paint it black than apply the rust powder or how did you do it?

The under carriage looks like a SF Bay area car might look if parked on the street its whole life.

Thank you! Painted parts black (or metallic black, silver, dull red ... as necessary). Then dabbed some clear on with a brush and dusted some rust powder on it. Then brushed off the excess rust after a few minutes of drying.

True, it's easy to overdo the rust effect...

This looks just fine.

Did a paint test with the highland green colors I bought years ago for this project. Gravity "GC-2191 Ford Bright Highland Green" has a blue-ish but otherwise nice dark tone to it. Zero "ZP-1205 Dark Metallic Green 1968 Ford Mustang Bullitt" is a greener, lighter color.

Both have way too much metallic "flake" in them. Tried using them unstirred, but that makes both of them very dark. I might buy automotive paint custom mixed without the "flakes". Edit: my phone's camera makes very grainy pictures, so that is a factor to the photo, on top of the metallic paint.
