Thought it was about time I started a new project, and, well, I had the kfs white kit in for ages and planned something different for it. Decided it was time for a garbage truck, and, after spending some time looking at plans for an autocar wxll, decided that was the beast for me. So far the chassis is built, the cab chopped to the right size and the interior fitted. The next job is to try and squeeze an engine in there somewhere! any comments appreciated!!

Andy,

That is a superb looking project! I have just been looking through your albums. Wow!! What an excellent collection of trucks. Very impressive and a very high standard of build. What do you do for your decals?

thanks for the compliment. As for decals, I started to make my own, but home brand decals are awkward to put on over a coloured cab, and the cost of the ink can usually be put to better use buying new trucks!!. So it's usually a case of whatever is to hand. Some waste management decals will have to be aquired from somewhere for this beast though, which, by the way, has fought me all day. Had the main axles and the engine done in about an hour, it then took a further three to get two tiny rear cab supports to sit straight!!!

a lot of the vintage ones are 1:34 scale first gear.

Quick question on the wxll garbage truck. Most of the chassis and engine work is now done, some more cosmetics left to do on the cab, and interior, and of course the wittke garbage body, which exists at the moment only on paper. My question is this: What's best for the wheels, I have a spare set of Budds, and a spare set of spokes, the front spokes are the extra wide ones. Just can't decide which looks best, though I'm leaning towards the budds, wondering what all you guys thought??

cheers
