Has anyone made a grill for the 1979 Ford Van to convert the 1977 Model that has round headlights? I want to build a replica of my mother's van I learned to drive in, actually in 1980.

The grille from the MPC van should fit the AMT one with no problems. Nice it itself, BTW.

Wish Round2 would reissue this one, it's a very nice, well detailed kit.

Model Roundup has one on their website right now. Also, would a 78 grille work?

1978 was still the older style w/ round headlights and turn signals below.  '79 changed the headlights to square and integrated the turn signals into the grille frame.

The Sunrunner grille is not entirely correct, as it's missing the gap between the grille and the surround. Still, it's the only kit option.

I was hoping there was a resin option. I see a lot of other grills & frontend made, but it may be my only choice.

Is that “Phantom” custom van from a few years ago the right version?

it doesn't appear so, just a custom grill with square lights.
