ABC Auto Industry Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Recently, I bought an AMT Peterbilt 359 wrecker and a Peerless logging trailer with the intent of building a Peterbilt 353 logging truck thanks to some parts I purchased from Global Scale Model Trucks. My only problem now is trying to find some off-road/construction tires to match the photos I've seen of the abandoned logging trucks that I'm basing my build on. I know AITM had some while they were still alive, but I can't find any now.
Force Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Look at Moluminum.com or stsupplyco.com, they have corse tread drive tires.
plastic trucker Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 You could also try Sourkraut's Model Trucks too.
ABC Auto Industry Posted July 22, 2024 Author Posted July 22, 2024 Good news: I found a healthy selection of tires. Bad news: I'm not sure how many of those will fit the wheels I want since a lot of them seem to be 22.5" and 24.5" tires and I think the wheels I want may be 20".
Force Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 (edited) Most aftermarket stuff fits kit wheels. The AMT tires are 10.00-20, 11.00-20 and 11.00-22 but most of them are tube style split ring/lock ring wheels but the AMT K100 kit wheels are Alcoa tubless style and they use the same 11.00-22 tires used on for example the White-Freightliner, and the 20 inch wheels for tube tires was replaced with 22.5 tubeless and the 22 inch tube tires was replaced with 24.5 tubeless. So your 20 inch rims will most likely fit in the 22.5 tires. Edited July 22, 2024 by Force
