V8tiger
I've purchased stl files and printed a lot of cool parts after a lot of trial and error things are going great. My very simple question is about the process. I've subscribed to Polycam and scanned a 33 Willys body, I tried to export it as an stl file into Lychee... doesn't work... Is there another step before Lychee slicer that I'm missing? Here's a totally 3d printed of Art Arfons Green Monster I did.. of course it's not exact..but had a lot of fun doing it. NOBLNG
First: Nice little model you’ve printed out Joe!😎 Second: I know zero about 3d printing.🧐 Third: Someone on here ought to know…there are a few members who are very involved with it. Fourth: If no one chimes in, try a 3d printing forum. There should be plenty of them on the web. Fifth: Good Luck with it.🙂
peteski
The subject line is very vague. A more descriptive subject line might attract the appropriate audience to answer the specific 3-D related questions. Then there is also a sticky thread here where this type of stuff is discussed:
MeatMan
Yes, there is a second step to converting a scan to a printable file. From a previous search I did what I found was a. you need to clean the file up by eliminating any background and reflections. b. you need to import it to some kind of CAD program to convert it. I don't know the intricate details because I stopped reading at that point. I suggest doing a search on it. There's a ton of info out there and I don't know what you're using so I can't help any further.
