How's this for inspiration?IMG_0223.jpeg.1f8f11f034cb955549762749a360545f.jpeg

I thought that this car was absolutely insane! So, of course, I have to build it!

Starting with a heavily damaged promo body, I'm underway!IMG_0244.jpeg.6a0ad4c2d5e0229cb2e4c83636d42c45.jpegI have to cut out the hood.

Used a Miss Deal chassis for the project. Funny how I’ve used this chassis at least 4 other times, yet I’ve never built one with the Studebaker body. Injected small block is perfect.IMG_0243.jpeg.107440b6e15939cf89bcc0689ef25921.jpegIMG_0240.jpeg.df803089e8dc36a76309fe22be000ddd.jpegIMG_0241.jpeg.5187e75148296add5ea9dbc17d3dbcc5.jpegIMG_0239.jpeg.555e388edfee0dccc4b25995567ba1cc.jpeg

Hood scoop choice is to be determined.

Chassis work continues:

I fabricated these bars and I made some front shocks from aluminum tubing.

Interior tub gets quite hacked up!

Meet the driver! An Ulrich Mini man. These figures are posable. I drilled and pinned the joints to get him in the correct pose.

By using pins, you can adjust all the joints.

Do you know what part of the country that ran in ?

Yes, I believe it ran in the Pacific Northwest.

This scoop is NOT working for me. Gonna have to find something else!

Notice the radius rods. I dropped the car but caught it before it hit the floor . Unfortunately. I broke the plastic radius rods. Stainless tubing replaced the kit parts.I think that they actually look better. Happy accident?

Outrageously cool and funky! How was this car never a model kit done by MPC?! It just fits with their style!

Well, they didn't have a Valiant tool.  Revell could have done it, though w/ their '62 Valiant 4dr.

Great project!!!  I have contemplated building a model of that car many times, but never got around to it.

Love that you are using the Miss Deal chassis.... I have used that kit as the base for the chassis on a half dozen of my s/fx and gasser builds through the years and have a couple more under projects that are in the works.
