Thank you, it's not perfect,  but a definite improvement over the start. Big failure on spraying the molotow last night, I failed to see the mixer ball take a trip into my airbrush. I lived Murphys law yesterday

Not much progress tonight,  managed to get the bumpers sprayed,  doesn't look too bad. On the plus side  found the original distributor for this kit, so at least the kit I stole the current one from is "complete". Thanks for looking

Honestly it's beginners luck, watching a ton if video's and using my experience with my 1:1 projects. I keep my distance consistent, at least 50% overlap on passes,dial in the pressure and pray. There's a few blemishes on these, but I'm happy. One thing I've learned with all painting is to have the paint lay down as the panel sits in the real world. So hoods are horizontal,  fenders vertical.  The bumpers were acrobatics with my wrists.

This took forever, next time I attempt anything like this i should be committed to an asylum. Modified the wheel backs to fit the new wheel/tire combo. Fronts and rears are different so I can play with the offset within the wheel opening and get the track width looking good. The rear barely fits, I've got a bit of room to move it inward. The fronts are a slight press fit, so they can move outward if I choose. I'm looking for opinions,  feel free to comment. Thanks for looking.

Thanks, I keep nit picking this thing. I'm happy with the wheels in the rear,  kinda think the fronts are a bit narrow. That might change after everything is painted up

This is a mindblowingly beautiful build so far. Keep rocking it. I love this kit. Not a high parts count, but it goes together great. I restomoded mine, but using all Pontiac parts. Ram Air IV 400, 4spd. Rally II's, etc. Plus the Model Car Garage photo-etch.😊

Thank you for the compliment. This is my first full build back to the hobby since childhood,  I've got a few others I started about 2 months before I joined the forum. I seen the builds and levels members take their project to and decided to give it a shot. Your gto is beautiful, I assume you had similar issues with the chrome and shallow details with the kit? I'm going for a bit of a day two build. I haven't shelved it, waiting on bare metal foil, experimenting with a rubber color(because I've limited myself to craft paints only) made a coil for it in a very sketchy way and actual time at the workbench. 70 hour work weeks right now.

I commend your progress on it. That color is exceptional. Mine is factory Marimba Red Poly. I built mine about 20 years ago. It was my second build after being out of the hobby since I was a teenager. My first was the Monogram Buick GSX for a club build. The shallow detail on the emblems is why I went with the photo-etch. It also gives it a more realistic appearance. I didn't have any issues with my chrome parts though. They look as good now as when I built it. I love GTO's and I'll be watching where you take this one. It looks great so far.👍💯😎

I like the wide/narrow look on a muscle car. I run 255/60 15 on the rear and 235/60 15 on the front of my 1:1 car. I can put 275/60s on the rear with no modifications, I just need wider rims.

Thank You. No, mine is a '67. '66s have the full length console. It's a 383 4 speed car. I've had her for 35 years.

Really nice, I've learned They have a few really cool features. Like the gauge lighting. I think it's called electro-illumination? Actually radioactive paint. Crazy cool.

Yep, electroluminescence. It's a phosphorus paint that reacts to high voltage(230v ac) and is absolutely beautiful at night. Hideaway Headlights(I make my living rebuilding/restoring headlight motors and wiper motors, etc www.headlightmotorman.com)

Polished the clear coat tonight,  and painted the wheel/tires. I still have to detail the center caps and lugs, not sure what I want to do. Planning on foiling it up tomorrow, hopefully.

Started foiling tonight,  it's going pretty well. Door handles are a pain to do, not completely happy with them. Thanks to everyone who gave any tips or advice, it ALL came in handy with this. Not all that difficult,  just had to pay attention watch how it behaved. I work with metal all day long, so maybe that helps. Thank again

I went on their website and they have some really intersting colors.   What did you have to do to prep the body before you strayed this?   What primer did you use and did you spray a clear over the top?
