carsntrucks4you
This is a 1974 Vauxhall HC Viva R/T 2.2 Twin Cam. This is one of the rarest Viva HC. Powered by a Lotus 904 twin cam engine. Most of the Twin cams were used on race tracks. Matt Bacon
Sorry to sound whingey, but I think that’s a one-off. It’s a Viva HC transplanted with the Lotus Twin-Cam engine found in fast Fords. There’s no “Viva Twin-Cam R/T” listed in any Vauxhall model model guide I have, and it’s not a manufacturer GT or Firenza. I can’t find any mention of that “model”online, and even reverse image search only finds one car, mostly on Flickr… beat, M.

As far as I found out there where a few Viva's HC Group 2 race cars with a Lotus 900 series engine. Those were based on the 2298 ccm Viva Magnum., most of them were coupes. The R/T come from the grill of the car that I saw at the NSRA Nationals in Peterborough in 2022
Matt Bacon
Fair enough; looks like there were some HCs with Lotus (nb: not Vauxhall) 900 engines. But most of them were based on Firenzas and used for rallying. A two door Viva HC “Magnum” with a 900-series engine is a real rarity, and I think the R/T badge was pinched from something else — I can’t see anywhere even in the deep dives into the 900 series engine that there was ever an official Vauxhall production car with that badge… best, M. Earl Marischal
I clocked it was a Viva HC straight away but the colour scheme fooled me into thinking it was a New Zealand version, the Viva Score 7. I was unaware of the Twin Cam model. steve
Ace-Garageguy
I also knew the base car, but found scrambled and conflicting info on the "Twin Cam" variant, so I let this one slide.
