57 Chevy Pro-Street

I’m gonna say this will be a progress thread, on account I have a PS Barracuda and the 55 custom to work on. But I’m a little excited to try this! I used the pill bottle trick for the tubs and scrap styrene for sheet metal and the frame.
Then I took a bunch of measurements, cut up a Ford 9” from a Revell kit and narrowed it to fit perfectly. Wheel and tire combo from the AMT Corvette Gasser sanded and re-profiled slightly.

Progress report. I believe the interior will fit just fine including the rear seat. Eventually I’ll bend up a roll bar. IMG_8376.jpeg.c7d6ed4ff7a5468036993646ac7ca231.jpegIMG_8375.jpeg.3c7e7cf6280be1589bb7dced87b20225.jpeg

I decided to use an engine from the 32 Roadster from Revell. I did remove the timing cover and installed the one from the 57 kit to use the stock engine mount. I’ll need to fab a trans mount still. IMG_8378.jpeg.26a7e55f097fb0bcbfc0e3059eac7949.jpegIMG_8374.jpeg.f14ffe4c568ee1c457686ff58f9871f7.jpeg

Other than some fine tuning, I’m pretty settled on the rear axel. More to figure out. Hoping to focus on this one but I’m in no hurry.

A thought that may or may not apply to what happened with your paint work. Having had something along this line happen before. I have found that before removing the masking tape use a sharp #11 along the edge of the tape, basically cutting the paint between the tape and the body, may prevent this in the future.
