Mike Slapattack Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) Hello everyone! I've been posting about my 1965 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe coupe project on the WIP section of the forum and the fascia I was designing garnered some much appreciated interest. Because of this I've decided that eventually I want to make and sell a 1965 Acadian Beaumont conversion kit for the Revell 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 Z16 kit. I do not know when I will make it available, as I haven't even designed all of the parts yet, but it will be coming! Here is the fascia thus far: Edited October 8, 2024 by Mike Slapattack Typo. 4

Mike Slapattack Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) I plan for the kit to contain parts to make any trim level of the 1965 Acadian Beaumont Sport Coupe, including the base, Custom, Deluxe, and Sport Deluxe. It will include front and rear fascias as well as wheel cover styled wheels, at least for now. I will also including an instruction manual with a list of existing kit parts that can be used in addition to my parts for a full conversion, as there's no point in replicating those. For example, the AMT 1965 Pontiac GTO Hardtop kit is an excellent source for a full Beaumont interior and appropriate standard steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps. Mike Slapattack Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 (edited) Nearing completion on the fascia. This is only my second time using Fusion and I'm still learning but I'm satisfied with my progress so far. I threw some textures on to see what it would look like painted up. Mike Slapattack Posted October 13, 2024 Author Posted October 13, 2024 (edited) Now that the front fascia is nearly complete, I've decided to start on the wheel rims. This kit will include wheels that look like the optional Sport Deluxe Full Wheel Discs on 14"x7" steel rims. They will be a 2-part assembly. Here's the progress on the front so far: Edited October 13, 2024 by Mike Slapattack
Mike Slapattack Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 The rim front is almost done! I've decided to make the spinners as separate parts like they are on the real car. Below is a rendering of the part in Fusion. 1
Mike Slapattack Posted November 1, 2024 Author Posted November 1, 2024 I may be remaking the Beaumont grille from scratch. The model is very inefficient and hard to adjust. I just got a SolidWorks license and I am far more competent with that software.
Mike Slapattack Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 (edited) Hi everyone, I'm sorry to disappoint anyone, but I will be cancelling this project, at least for now. Canuck 3D recently came out with an absolutely excellent Beaumont kit and he is a great guy to buy from, so I highly recommend you check his out. Also, I've switched over to using SolidWorks and this model was very crudely done in Fusion and I'd have to make an entire new model, which would take too much time for me at the moment given the amount of projects I have. I simply am not as good at Fusion as I am in SolidWorks, so the model was not constructed in a way that would make small adjustments difficult without creating errors. I also overloaded myself quite a bit with too many projects, so I'm scaling back so I can actually start rolling some products out. Again, my apologies, but I hope you all understand. Thanks!
