Hondamatic Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 I used the AMT 77 Pinto hatchback with the MPC 1980 wagon front end, chassis and dashboard 9
espo Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Like the body conversion and the paint design and color looks spot on. You didn't mention the engine, but I remember when a lot of guys were putting V-8's in Pintos and Vegas, they were very hot in their day. Like the wheel-tire combination and the stans. 1

Forgot to mention this was the optional V8 from the same MPC kit. It doesn't come with mufflers and air cleaner, so I had to add them too Edited October 16, 2024 by Hondamatic 1
catpack68 Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 Very nice work! I love the stance,color and stripe? 1
TarheelRick Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 (edited) Got to find me one of those MPC wagons so I can build a model of my '80 Runabout. One of my parts cars has some of the Starsky & Hutch paint scheme. Since this picture was made I have added the chrome grille and headlight buckets. It is now at the upholstery shop getting the headliner and front seats redone. Edited October 16, 2024 by TarheelRick 2
Chinacar Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 Nice graphic and bodywork. If Starsky and Hutch had to turn in their Torino during the gas crunch this was the perfect staff car! 1

Yeah I was thinking of putting in a CB and the red flasher but I was rushing for a model show this past weekend 1
DJMar Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 If the original Starsky & Hutch car was nicknamed the "Striped Tomato", is this version the "Striped Cherry Tomato"? This is an awesome little '70s-style street burner. It's great to see the V8 up front and those fat meats in the rear. ? 1
XYHARRY Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 Considering power to weight ratios, this Pinto would likely run rings around the Torino. Your 'what if' build is super cool and looks great, really well done Hien. Cheers, David. ?? 1
Koellefornia Kid Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 Really like the front and the striped tomato paint scheme! looks great! 1
RACINE ISHRAQUR RAZA Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Awesome build and I like that idea! Maybe one day I'll try it too. 1
Mike Slapattack Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Very cool swap! I was thinking about doing the same thing. 1
