Please post any pictures you may have for those of us who can't attend.

For once in what, ten years? I am planning to be there.

I would like to meet forum members, so if you have no issue, consider wearing a name tag with your forum name and real name.

Bob, would it be possible to have blank name tags at registration?

I believe we'll have name tags where you register and around the hotel lobby where people will be hanging out on Friday evening. We'll be pre-registering in person on Friday at the venue next door to hotel at 4:30 PM.

I had hoped to be there this year; however, responsibilities here at home will cause me to miss it.

I remember the early shows from when I was a participating member. I will always be an ACME member at heart; the photo shows two of my most prized possessions.

I know you will have a great show and I will shoot for next year!20241025_174430.jpg.4f76b56e67ac69a334b7006a27abb112.jpg

I think I saw you in the crowd, but by the time I finished the conversation-buying at MCG, you had vanished, never to be seen again.

Well, doggone it! You should’ve thrown something at me. ??? I made upwards of eleventeen laps around the joint. One more wouldn’t have killed me.

Just have to say that this year's show was outstanding. Incredible builds on display and a ton of vendors to get your fix, whether it was old models, new models, resin or paint, there was something for everyone. Compared to the old venue, this location is so much better and having the hotel next to the center makes it easy for those that travel out of town.

This year was my first time at this show. All I can say is that even with all the car trouble I end up having in both directions, it was absolutely 100% worth it. Great show, with impeccable organization and some really really nice people. I am horrible with names, so I am not going to try to mention people I met, so I don't mess it up.

There were some familiar faces I've seen before and many new ones. There were photo booths for three different magazines. Model Car Garage were present. Norm and some of his incredible resin part from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland was there. Out of all the vendors there he was the only one who could supply me with a Revell VW Rabbit, go figure. Slixx/STS decals were on location and about the greatest selection of resin bodies you could find anywhere. My kid almost convinced me to buy a 1/12 Model Factory Hero Porsche, which at $700 was roughly half the going price for those.

And the models...well, it was not just about the quantity that was present but the quality of the models. Some truly stunning pieces both from names that most have heard and from totally new (to me) people. Literally everything and anything was on display, from mega detailed projects to some glass art sculpture tingy that was just as cool. You could see some amazing paintjobs, from super realistic rusted bodies to immaculate decal work, to glass smooth graphics on lowriders. I mean, there was literally something for every taste and fancy. Pretty much everyone got the early bird pass and tables filled up pretty quick. But the most amazing part was, that it felt like people were still bringing models and putting them on display to the very end of the show. Every time we went my kid from one end of the display area to the other, he would go : " Dad, did you see what someone just put on the table?".

Now the really bad part was, that for the first time in my life at a model show, somehow I forgot and did not take a single photo. I had my camera with me and even brought my charger and an extra battery. And somehow did not take any pictures. In a way it is a testament how great of a show it was if I didn't even have time to take pictures. I hope someone else could provide plenty of them, as there was definitely plentiful of eye candy all over the tables.

I am definitely going next year and I would highly recommend it to anyone else.

Sounds like a great show.  I went last year but am on the opposite coast now so it was not in the cards.  I have seen pictures on Facebook and it appears there were 900+ models.  I’m surprised the early bird was for putting models on the table and not just to have first crack at the vendors.  At most NNLs the models being displayed are allowed inside after the first hour or so of the vending area being opened up.  I guess with everything in the same room that was not possible.

The early bird pass was to get you into the show at 8:00, while the regular admission was at 10:00. With all of the vendors there it was mind boggling at what was available. As mentioned above, just about anything you could think of was there- resin, paint, detailing items, decals, photo-etch, kits new and old- and of course the incredible models on display. The show truly attracts the best of the best and the talent on display is incredible.

When we first offered early bird passes it was intended for people to get an early crack at vendors like they used to do at the Toledo NNL's. What happened almost immediately was that builders were buying the vast majority of passes because table space gets tight very quickly. Not sure if we ever surveyed buyers of the passes if they were paying the premium for vendor access, early access to show tables, or perhaps both. Last year we moved to a larger venue, we wondered if people would pass on the early bird deal because of more table space. Nope! Even with the major move our show grew instantly to fill up the new/bigger/better venue! Good problem to have...we have a blast putting on the show and it's quite rewarding to see how everyone has so much fun for the weekend.
