Duddly01 Posted December 15, 2024 Author Posted December 15, 2024 Started preparing the parts for paint and painting base colors. there was a nasty mold line through the ends of the front bumper so I stripped and sanded the bumpers, then drilled them for carriage bolt rivets I will add later. components in the tray are finished with airbrush work and the rest will be hand painted details. The rest still need airbrush work. the body has now been wet sanded and polished. 7

GlueGloob Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Beautiful build. It will be awesome when it’s done.
Musclecarbuilder Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Wow Donald that paint finish is immaculate! Fantastic job! 1
Steve H Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Looks amazing Donald! That green is stunning. Look forward to seeing this come together. 1

I am taking this one a bit further than I usual do even. I am working on the wheels now, adding valve stems and top studio hex rivets for the lug nuts to give them just that little bit extra.
Duddly01 Posted December 17, 2024 Author Posted December 17, 2024 I got a little more work done today. Drilled out the wheels for hex rivet lug nuts and valve stems. I painted the rims, installed wire for valve stems, hex rivets for lug nuts, center cap decals and Uv resin for the center caps to give them the clear plastic look of the center caps. I like how they turned out myself. I did some detailing on the chassis, adding brake, fuel and emergency brake lines. I then turned my attention to detailing the interior a bit, adding the gauges lenses and LED light containment for the dash. 4
jmk0303 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Man, this is a great build so far. Really nice enjoy you sharing the process. 1
STU111 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 G’day Donald, I’m enjoying the little details being incorporated into the build. Paint on the body is nice and glassy, I reckon this is going to be a stunner when done .👍🏻 1

BK9300 Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Another terrific build, Donald! Really like the wheel lugs detailing and all the work under the car as well. Even if no one knows about it, you do. Looks great! 1

I am sure some people will notice there is something about the wheels that is different from the kit but may not know why. 😁 I do wonder how many people will think the body is from a resin transkit. I may have to make a coupe at some point too. I think I can scratch build a roof. 🤔 Edited December 17, 2024 by Duddly01 1
espo Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Great looking paint finish and side stripes. Like the added wheel lug details. The body and interior colors remind me of the car on Gas Monkey Garage. 1

Duddly01 Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 I did get a little more detailing done today. Mainly the engine and engine compartment. 3
Musclecarbuilder Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 Wow she's really coming together! 1

Duddly01 Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 I got quite a bit done today. Added the PS, alternator and fan to the engine and created belts for 0.5mm flat elastic. I attached the transmission as well. The air cleaner is designed to be removable. created appropriate license plates and flocked the carpet areas. added the tinted windshield and rear view mirror to the body. installed the engine in the chassis and completed detailing the chassis and engine compartment. installed the interior components to the chassis. Next to create seatbelts. I will also place a set of keys with a mustang keychain in the interior for a little extra touch. Also need to install the LED wiring harness to the chassis before I drop on the body. 3
Musclecarbuilder Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Very nice! I love all that detail! 1
DoctorLarry Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Are those rivets sold in the US? What a great added detail to a fantastic build. 2
Funkychiken Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 This build is super cool, loved the thread, keep it coming! 1

I order them from BNA model world most of the time, out of Australia. 2 hours ago, Funkychiken said: This build is super cool, loved the thread, keep it coming! Thank You! Duddly01 Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 I was able to get a lot of work done today. Added the seatbelts and a set of keys to the interior. Installed the LED wiring harness to the chassis. I created the GTA emblems with decals, metal and UV clear resin. Now it is starting to look like a car. Joined the body and chassis, installed the LED headlights and taillights, installed the wheels and a few other details. I added carriage bolt rivets to the bumpers but still need to install on the car as well as so much more detailing. I am about to hit a brick wall waiting for a new photo etch kit to arrive. The one I got a little while ago oddly was not completely etched through and the letters are a solid mass joined all together. 3
DoctorLarry Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Great build. What did you use for the seatbelt material? 1
