Bugatti Fan Posted February 6 Posted February 6 It wasn't a disaster after all. Just a setback. Good to see your paintwork is getting sorted!

I didn't think it was a disaster, I always knew I could fix it. I just would have preferred not to have to. =D-
David G. Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 Hello Everybody! Just to let you all know, I haven't forgotten about the Cord. Here's proof! Another round of color sanding and panel scribing. Another coat of paint. It still has some of the bits and bumps from the previous coats and/or some new ones but I think this is the one I'll polish. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G. 3
carl63_99 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Looking really nice! I'm inspired to get working on mine. Pics posted of the WIP just a short time ago.

Zippi Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I'm liking it David. That blue is going to look pretty nice all polished up.

David G. Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 Hello Everybody! I decided to have some fun mocking up my current builds while I waited a few days for the paint to cure. I used the Cord to load-test the Auto Transport Trailer I'm currently working on. Here's everything I'm currently working on mocked up for display. The Peterbilt 359 and Transport Trailer will be paired as a set but the Cord will have its own spot in the display case. Yeah, I know... sooooo much blue! As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to share any thoughts or comments you may have. David G. 5
NOBLNG Posted February 15 Posted February 15 It’s all looking very nice Dave! I would love to build the transport trailer, but I have nowhere to display something that big. 1

This thing is flippin' huge, almost 24" long and more than 29" with the loading ramps in place. =D-
LennyB Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Great looking rig. I've been wanting to build a 60's style hauler and display it with a Ford Dealership diorama I would like to build. Of course finding time for all this is another story.

Time, our most precious resource. It's the one thing that we never seem to have enough of and can never get any more of. David G. 1
David G. Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 Hello Everybody! I've allowed myself to become distracted for a while by one of my other hobbies. Consequently, I've been spending a little bit less time at the bench building models. But I have managed to get some work done. Another round of color sanding. Well, it started as polishing but I started burning through the paint so yeah... Which leads to a better paintjob. There's still a bit of orange-peel that I think I can polish out. In addition to the slight orange-peel, I have a little sag at the bottom of the door which I think I can take care of with my Zona polishing cloths. Still, there's always time for an inspirational mockup. Seeing the car mocked up like this almost makes me think that I can live with the paint as it is. Hmmm... Well, that's all for this round. As always, please feel free to post any comments you may wish to share. David G. 3
Steve H Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Looks really nice David! Those colours suit the car perfectly. I have also had that voice in my head saying similar things when painting, then ignoring them… then having to deal with the consequences…. I think we’ve all been there.

I think we’ve all been there. Thank you Steve. I think I'm going to see what a quick polish can do for it. It does look pretty good already and I'm the only one it has to please. Which is where most of the problem lies Thanks for your encouragement Steve. =D-
Zippi Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I think that paint will polish up pretty nice there David. Those Big ole while wall tires really give it the look. The mockup looks pretty sharp.

David G. Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Hello Everybody! While I sort out what to do about the paint flaws on the body, I decided to address some of the other tasks that need done. The kit chrome has been stripped from the external header tubes. After filing away the seams I had to re-sculpt the grooves that were under them. Once that was done, I primed and sprayed the tubes with Rust-Oleum metallic chrome paint. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post any comments you may have.
