Built in Brazil as the top model range of DRKW-Vemag.  The two door body  was designed by the Italian Carozzeria Fissore. The Fissore is technical based on the DKW-Vemag Belcar, which means it has a 3 cylinder two stroke engine and the chassis from the Belcar. It was built parallel to the Belcar until 1967 until VW do Brazil take over DKW-Vemag. Around 2500 cars were build. The outdated two stroke engine prohibited a market success.

Since I got in to official retirement on Sunday  I have more stuff to do than I thought🤣. I simply forgot to finish this quiz on Monday. Therefore 'll give you a hint for this one. The car had a two stroke engine and it was build in the southern hemisphere.

Nice looking little car (if kinda bland), very Italianesque, which made ID as something from South America more challenging.

Fissore is not among the most well known European design houses in the States, but they did some notable cars, among them the DeTomaso Vallelunga.

I thought it was Italian -- has something of a Lancia Fulvia or Alfa about it -- but no dice there. Then knowing how these things go, I started looking at legacy German car companies, and found the wheels on a DKW/Auto Union roadster. And then it was "just" finding a DKW-adjacent car bodied by a Carrozzierie Italiani...

best,

M.

I agree about the Vallelunga, just a shame the engine was the rather dull 1.5 litre Kent 4-pot!

This was a great challenge - I did think DKW at one point (for the rear 2-stroke engine) - as well as Lancia (for the front end) but credit to those who got this one.

Just shows that for me some of the best quizzes are the ones I don't know!
