ZMSC Modell Works Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Converted from a 2013 Mustang GT, plenty of modifications tho its better to just read it from my site as that's where it was recorded. Here you just get to see the ub-bridled beauty. Most notably is the window net is poseable, cage was built from scratch, and decals wee knockoffs of the Slixx set. Because of me not knowing at the time and finding out later, I went and bought the whole Cobra Jet line and intend to build them all as an apology to Slixx and to myself for not doing my research. 6
Mike 1017 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Great build. I have one sitting on my shelf wondering what to do with it. Thanks for the inspiration. Again, Great Build Mike
ZMSC Modell Works Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 @Mike 1017 just be aware that there's the 2013 Mustang GT and the 2013 Boss 302. The GT has almost all moulded in detail. Came to find out after that the 2013 Boss 302 has its separated like the rest of the revell Mustangs. I'm going to be making a 2008/09 Cobra Jet and that's taking 3 kits to make 1. A Bullitt, a GT and a GT-H because while they make 3 in 1 kits all the time, they couldn't offer different variations of the mustang in 1 lol.
Mike 1017 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 I see diecast Cobra Jet, C.O.P.O and Challenger. Just a guess. If the diecast sales numbers don't meet expectation's there is no need to manufacture a plastic kit? Mike
ZMSC Modell Works Posted November 30, 2024 Author Posted November 30, 2024 @Mike 1017 if everyone thought that way then we'd have no plastic models to build. It just always seemed odd that there weren't any modern CJs, COPs, or Scat Pax seeing as the licensing was already there for the makes. I guess it it just means that I've build the only 1/25 2014 CJ in the world lol
Brutalform Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Pretty sweet late model Mustang build. Headers and the whole under carriage looks fantastic. I like the adjustable rear anti sway bar, for added traction. I have a late model Firebird Formula I’d like to build in a similar way.
Maurice Henderson Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Bro, your Mustang is outstanding..The only thing it's missing is the Cal-Tracs bars for wheel hop..I see you put some FS decals on it..Instead of XX, I would put FS/AAA because it looks like you have an automatic in the the car..If it was a stick it would FS/AS..The build is really a nice rendering of those FS cars..I'm on a NHRA Top Sportsman team and love watching Super Stockers/Stockers run..The detail you put into this build is outstanding..Great build and I can't wait to see what comes out your head..The reason I would put XX on the car is because NHRA uses that for experimental cars...If you're calling it that, then you are correct. Not knocking your build because again, it's a Bitchin build!!!

I truly do appreciate when someone with more experience and more knowledge tells me exactly where I went wrong or how I should have done things. This was the first drag car I really build with intent. It was part of a 2 month Racing The Strip buildoff on instagram. Box unopened. The intent was originally to build the CJ but when I opened the box I had no idea the amount of work that was going to be undertaken. I found alot of my references on places like bringatrailer and Mecum and compiled them HERE . Yes the transmission is not correct as it was a compromise between fitment and time. it should have a 3spd Auto but instead is a 5spd stock tranny from the kit. I did manage to find the proper engine/ transmission combos now so when I do the next one it will be 3D printed and accurate. The window markings were a total guess, and I guess were almost right. I believe ( and correct me if I'm wrong because of your knowledge) but the original 3 test mules Ford sent out to test wore XX markings. Again, could be wrong but at least I guessed half right. Thanks again for your feedback, and in the future, do you have any resources to look at for markings and classes? I have a few more factory stock builds in the lineup that I would like to get right next time. PM me with those details when you have a minute because I would love to pick your brain. 1

I'm not up on all the nhra stock/super stocker rules but cal track bars are designed for leaf spring suspension setups, these s197 mustangs used 3 or 4 link rear suspension i believe. Awesome build though, very nice detail.

Maurice Henderson Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 14 hours ago, ZMSC Modell Works said: What class would the V10 drag pak challenger fall under/ would have fallen under then? Drag Paks can fall under Super Stock where they can run in the SS/DA (automatic) or SS/D (stick)..Both classes have and index of 10.20..They also can run Factory Stock Showdown which I said before run heads up with COPO Camaro's, and Mustangs..Drag Paks started running around 2009 in the NHRA, NMCA and you were in the FSS/AAA class. The HP determine which pulley you could use..If it was the 540 hp motor with the 2.9 Whipple charger, the upper pulley was 3.000 inches..The 630 hp with the 3.0 Whipple the upper pulley is 3.500 and lower was 7.530 inches. In 2011 you could get a 512 inch motor with standard equipment like a TCI power guide tranny, strange 9" rear end 9" rear slicks and open headers..In 2015 they offered either the 354SC or 436 Nautural Aspirated motors..99 % of the FSS cars use the 354SC motor..I hope I've answered your question.
