Hi Guys, n Gals !

So here we go, another long term project, but one Ive been planning in my head for a few weeks...

For those who didnt catch it, look out for the Kindig It Design 53 Corvette, the car that won this years Riddler award. 5 years to build and over 90% scratch built, it just blew me away !
So i thought Id build something loosely based on it ! Easy, right ??

A lot of the build will have to be figured out as i go, but it will hopefully have a smooth bellypan blended in, crazy cantilever stye suspension, oh and maybe a Viper V10 engine !

Not sure if its going to stay a roadster, and im not decided on the interior either.

Im hoping to blend the floor to the body, paint it in one go, then add the finished suspension, engine ,interior etc afterwards.

Sounds Cool right ?  Lets see what happens.....

Got to start somewhere, so i cut out a big corvette shaped bit of plastic !

Found some inner arches from an Audi R8, and spent ages fitting them inside the corvette body. Then theres a cut out for the rear suspension to be viewed !
Going to narrow the front inner Audi arches and smooth them in, then cut out the sections for the engine etc !

These are probably the wheels I`ll use, not sure yet ? Ive started removing indicators, badges etc from the bodywork and yes it will lay on the floor at the front, stance is everything !

Wish me Luck eh !

Sure a lot of you will hate them, but...

Decided to order new wheels, if your going crazy why not throw in some Huge alloys ?

These are the new rims, 20" Various MB5 from Aoshima, ultra-ultra low profiles too, but i  love em ....  but there gonna be a squeeze ! !

Thanks guys,

And cheers for posting the Avant pic, im supprised how good that looks !

Had a bit of time free today to play around with the Corvette !
Been trying to decide how to mold in the floor with the body, paint it, but still be able to add interior and suspension afterwards ??

Think i got an idea !
The front inner arches have been added ( from an Audi R8 ) and a hole cut for the engine. But im now thinking of cutting these out in one piece and then blending in the rest to the body.
The centre section with the engine and suspension can then be added later !

Heres the chassis....

Then there`s the section in pencil im removing to add later !
Hope this makes sense..

Thanks Guys !

For the engine, Im using an old Dodge Viper V10 ! !

Been trying to make it look, well, smooth. Kindig, Foose etc all panel the engines so i tried that !
Think it should look alright. Not got many parts except the block, so the belts etc were all hidden away, should look good from underneath too, hopefully !

Needs a funky injection system, but that can wait till later...

Thanks Guys !

Hope you all enjoyed Christmas and New years !

Heres a quick new years update, see where we are with this !

Didnt want to use the original seats and they come molded in, Soooo.. cut it all up and make a new interior !
The original dash panel and centre console are kept, and the tube is from a marker pen ! The rest im piecing together in plastic.

Also playing with the floorpan, this is the idea behind the engine panels, with 2mm C channel to lift the center part up !

Due to the big wheels i had to change the front inner arches, it wasnt on the floor so for now ive remade them. Maybe come back to this bit ?

More soon ! !

Great to see your scratch building skills again Martin. Looking forward to seeing another wild ride come together.
Love the wheels. Are they really a scale 20”. They look even bigger!

Thanks Guys !  Yes Sonny i think there more like 23/24" rims but it says 20" on the aoshima box !!

I wanted to get the main parts complete, the interior is built and next was the engine compartment !
After chopping about with the inner arches to get the new big wheels in, theres not a lot of room for a V10 ?

I built a box within the front arches, then didnt like it so ripped it out ! Too plain !
So i tried an Audi R8 inner tailgate panel, obviously !!   Then added another box around the engine. Its a squeeze but think it will work out !

Main thing is the wheels tuck under and its Loooow !!

Quite happy considering i only used a body and a set of aftermarket rims, the rest is scratchbuilt !

More soon...
