Torque tube would be the easy part, I'd have modify the frame rails I think though,  still undecided though lol. Yeah I'm gonna chop the bed down and possibly Bob the rear of the frame. Alot of it comes down to which motor, the six would mean the cab will sit further back.

I have built one model from my parts stash based mostly around left over parts from an AMT 29 Mod Rod/Ala Kart and AMT 23 T parts. Built Rat Rod style with flat paint which was Tamiya primer with some green added to get the colour I was after which also gave it a little shine. Inspiration came from a magazine feature at the time of build (2008). The cool beer keg was from an old AMT Surf-n-Go (Surf Wagon in the US) like I recently completed but I could not find an extra keg as the kit one was missing - but not this one, this was from the parts box.

 

That's pretty cool! Yeah everything on this will be from leftovers, trying to knock down some of my excess stock

This will be a fun one to follow.  I have a similar build approach in mind as there are lots of parts in the junkyard just gathering rust.

Figured out how to make the stovebolt work. Swapped the transmission from the y block to the six and just had to trim a little from the exhaust tunnel on the frame to clear the starter. The stovebolt doesn't have molded in exhaust and a slimmer profile allowing me to build my own turbo header. Now I've got to figure out motor mounts. I've got these 3d ones I might use while not technically correct,  they do look cool

Cut up a junk manifold to modify the stovebolts to accept a 4 barrel carb. Built the turbo header out of soldering wire and a Cummins manifold. Swapped the generator for an alternator. Cut the flathead motor mounts and installed the aftermarket.

Engine is built. Scratch built header, fuel line, distributor wires, turbo intake and cap, oil dip stick, ect. Also added a holley carb and made the intake removable to show the detail. Lightly weathered the engine and trans with weathering chalk

I started a tradition a couple of years back to do a parts-box build every December and use up all the kit parts left over from that year’s builds.  

That tradition lasted one entire December and I forgot about it until just now…but I should start it up again!  This is a great fun project!  Nice work!

Yes, I also use heat shrink when make my own distributors

Getting frame mocked up and figuring wheels and tires. Thinking of running the 34 cab instead. It's a little wider and fits the frame better. I'll probably try my hand at a chop and possibly a channel job

Did the frame in a rust finish. Wheels are red primer. Motors mounted and test fitted the cab. Knowing where everything else was going to sit allowed me to chop down the bed.

While the body parts are drying from the first paint color, I started working on the interior.  Although you won't be able to see much,  I still opened up the holes on bomber seats

The seats were begging for it, Seth. Bed length looks right and a channel job certainly  wouldn't hurt.....  I need to do one of these 🤔

Thank you! It's definitely been one of my funner builds and a good way to try new techniques

Absolutely.  I have a box of A,T, and deuce parts but the thing that's in short supply is front axles, dropped ones. There was some Aussie ones on Ebay that I want to try....I should do that...note to self - check ebay.
