Leo64 Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 I didn't see this posted on here, so I figured I would pass on the info. I received the Jan/Feb issue of Finescale Modeler Magazine, and almost the entire issue is articles about weathering. I've attached a pic showing the table of content that shows all the articles. Most of the articles use military models for the examples, but sometimes these kind of articles can be used on auto & truck models, and for those doing figures it might help with those also. peteski Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Yes, I also thought that was a very useful issue of FSM. Lots of good techniques covered .

Thanks! I don't have a sub so I bought a single copy -- $11! It's an entire issue of weathering techniques. The price is kind of steep but it was worth it to see step-by-step examples with explanatory text. For example, I'd heard of chipping fluid but I had no idea about what it was until seeing this.
Paul Payne Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 my go to for weathering is artist's chalk pastels applied mostly with my fingers and a few q tips. Works especially well on flat finishes.
gotnitro? Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Cheapo hairspray works great for chipping paint if anyone is interested.
