Front suspension looking good!  I'm going to have to try that in a future build.

Thank you! It’s a relatively easy customization to carry out, I just recommend using a fast setting glue

Clears the oil pan nicely

Thank you, one of the things I was most worried about when doing this

First major problem has been encountered. Many of the pieces of this kit have come with scratches on them. I hoped to correct this by sanding with 1500 grit sandpaper and using high build primer. I went to paint some of the larger body pieces today, and found that my effort to repair these scratches was not enough. Time for some more sanding of these areas and possibly putty work which will hopefully correct the problem. There is also a large spot on the grill which I am unsure how I will correct at the moment.image.thumb.jpg.2ac478131e55652aee8bb32bbf6b30ea.jpgimage.thumb.jpg.7663f27899ecc18541414ff2df5f445c.jpg

Hey BOZ

Use some Mr. Surfacer 500 or 1000 on the paintable parts. Use Molotow pen on the grill.

Thank you, I will try that

A p/e grille would look awesome on this build.

Not sure what you mean by p/e?

CTM has a set for the ROG Pete's

That's the set I had in mind. I think that upgrade will make this build epic.

No worries, thank you for the reference pics. I don’t have any experience with photo etch, does it include the whole grill or just that insert?

Removed the grill from the sprue today to prep for a custom insert I will make, and it sustained a large crack. The crack was on the top of the grill which is far from the two sprue attachment points on the side so I’m unsure how it happened. Any of you guys happen to have a spare Peterbilt 359 grill that you don’t plan on using or know where I can find a replacement?

Wasn’t able to spend much time at the bench this week but was still able to get a few parts made and make some headway on this build. I fabricated:image.thumb.jpg.c5b3f282c451b9ac13b7f7fb8cd5b46b.jpg

Custom “little window” style visor from sheet styrene

Deck plate which will run the full length of the frame

I also made a few filler panels which will go in between the rear fenders. A few parts were painted this week including the engine and hood. I have also made the decision to convert this truck to a day cab and ditch the large sleeper so stay tuned for updates on that.

Hey Boz

You need to get ride of the line that runs down the front window pillar to the hood, on both sides. It should not be there. The horizontal one from the door opening to the hood is okay.

Yup, I just hit the cab with a bit of green since it shows those lines off a lot more than white, they’ll be a lot easier to remove now that I can see them easier. Thank you for the reminder!
