The kit can be built as a '39 or '40 and I chose to go the '39 route.  Exhaust is molded into the chassis so I cut out the floorboards and replaced with flat styrene.  While I was under there I put together an aluminum rod exhaust with aluminum tubing mufflers and tips.  Side and rear glass was replaced with yellow acetate.  The kit engine looked small under the hood so in went a wired tunnel ram setup.  Paint is HOK sunrise pearl.

Super paint job!  Nice work on the exhaust. Engine looks sweet, too.
What gauge wire did you use for the throttle spring?  It’s nice and tight.

Thank you David, Carl, Chris, Harry, and Bob.

Throttle spring is 30awg wire stripped of the coating.  I got it at Radio Shack years ago.

Congrats on another great build!  That may be one of my all time favorite shades of gold.

Question: I looked up these HOK paints and they're way out of my price range.  Even the 4 oz bottle is over $35.00.  Is there a cheaper way to buy these or do I just need to suck it up and save up?

Thank you Monty, David, and Larry.

Monty, I'm used to buying HOK paints from Coast Airbrush in 2 oz pre-mixed bottles.  Those are gone and replaced by 4 oz bottless nad they are expensive.  I'm looking for a new paint and may go to Tru-Color from Arizona Hobbies.  I've used Tru-Color before with success and they have more colors available now.
