YellowHound Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 My wonderful wife bought this kit for me as my Christmas present. Haven't felt this excited about an Xmas present in a while! I've been trawling the internet for sources of detail images of the original car but really that has come up short. Some things that 'help' but largely it's replicas and road cars. I've been looking at books and may buy the Lancia Stratos 50 tome, but I suspect that's going to be mostly images of the cars in competition. So if anyone can make a recommendation...... I'll post progress images but I think this one is going to take a while. Quote
bytownshaker Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 You might consider looking at Technics build a little further down this for as his build has some good pictures. 1 Quote

Ace-Garageguy Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Wow. I have a couple of these in 1/24, but thanks to you, now I NEED one in 1/12. Cool project. I'll be following. 1 Quote
jaymcminn Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 I'm eagerly following this build. Can't wait to get started on mine when it arrives! Quote
YellowHound Posted January 6 Author Posted January 6 A bit of engine progress. Lots of other bits coming together, but nothing that's worth showing yet! 3 Quote
jaymcminn Posted January 11 Posted January 11 My Stratos finally arrived from Italy today, I'm enormously impressed by the look of this kit so far. Italeri really swung for the fences with this one! 1 Quote
Old Nasty Posted January 11 Posted January 11 One of my favorite cars. I've only seen one in person & was impressed with it's tiny size. Model on. 1 Quote
YellowHound Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 Blast, one of the pins for the HT leads on the distributor snapped.... 1 Quote
YellowHound Posted Sunday at 04:18 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:18 PM Engine is done - maybe a few little areas of touch up required. Next step will be to fit it to the chassis (which is almost ready for it). The ignition wire in the kit is laughably thin - more like something for a 1/24 kit - so I used my own material for the leads. 1 Quote
YellowHound Posted Monday at 03:48 PM Author Posted Monday at 03:48 PM Engine is in! It's a tight fit to get it into the chassis, but fortunately not too difficult. Here's how it stands today: 2 Quote
