Dann Tier Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) Hey everyone, this is a Countach that i started a couple years ago. Its my favorite car ever...especially white with matching wheels. Even though its my favorite, i have never been able to finish one for myself. I actually ruined 16 Fujimi kits trying. After a 20 year break from trying anymore, i'm back at it, but with this kit instead. Aoshimas kit is way better than Fujimis if you dont count the lack of a full engine/suspension, and under bonnet detail. At this point, i just want a really nice curbside build, but i'm gonna add a tone of details to it to still make the engine bay look just as real as Fujimis. -Photo 1; The kit, or should i say; two of these kits. -Photo 2; Some inspiration -Photo 3; Everything marked by sharpie needs to be cut away. I was in the process of scribing stitching lines. A ignition switch needs to be added to the steering column, which also needs the under side filled in. -Photo 4; Here are the replacement parts. I know it seems like alot of work, but to me its cleaner looking in the end, and isnt really that bad to do. -Photo 5; There are a ton of marked bits to cut away for better realism. -Photo 6; Since its a curbside, i assembled most of the chassis, and shot it up with black primer. I will paint details that end up being visible while sitting on a shelf. Brake lines will be added since they are very visible on this car. -Photo 7; It already has a great stance. Its nice not having to fix the ride height on something. I also had the wheels stripped already. Edited January 7 by Dann Tier 6
lordairgtar Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Even for a simple chassis, it's quite nicely detailed. Lot's of possibilities on this project
beeRS Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Great start Dann, and good to see your work again. I totally agree - the Aoshima kit beats the Fujimi for accuracy, though the Fujimi has an insanely well detailed chassis and engine. I am also working on the QV5000 which I intend on finishing in white, but mine is way off completion.
Mattilacken Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Was searching other stuff but found these.. might be some thing for you. Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole - 3D-Printed & Coloured Interior (for Aoshima kits) Quinta Studio -QD24012
David G. Posted January 9 Posted January 9 The Countach is one of my all-time favorites too Dann. Maybe you remember the Fujimi kit I built a couple of years back. I wish you the best of luck this time around. It looks like you're off to a great start. David G.
Rich Chernosky Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Dann...I am always amazed at the great lengths you go to. Your WIP's are so very informative and I have utilized some of your techniques. I can see why you like the white version of this car. Its amazing and so aggressive looking. It will be a spectacular model. I have 3 of the Fujimi kits "in paint" and have for many years now. I did get the doors to work properly though. And I did finish one of them so I am confident I can eventually do the others. Thanks for putting this WIP up...I will be sure to follow.
dino246gt Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I'm excited to see what you do to this one, I know you know Countachs very well, as you did one large scale to perfection!
Mark W Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Great to see you on this project. No matter what the subject, I always walk away with new ideas and techniques.
