TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 slow going, but i got a bit further along with the interior. Had to mix a bunch of tamiya and MrHobby greens and yellows with a bit of pearl, and then mix a bunch more greens and yellows, but i finally came up with a color that is pretty close to the original interior color. I made some cloth pattern seat decals and the green stripes are decals too 9
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 got some black paint on the body, gotta let it dry and then lots of polishing. This color combo was available, but im very doubtful there were ordered from the factory Starlight black with Medium Green interior. Thats why im doing it!!!! 8 1
Spex84 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Looking good! I love that interior fabric pattern. It's very cool to see these 3D printed conversion parts being integrated into new builds.
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 (edited) I got my full set of decals designed and printed now, so i was able to detail out the interior. I added seatbelts that i dyed to match, the buckles are made of .020x.125 strips. the dash is the Canuck3d one that is included with the beaumont conversion kit. The dash has awesome detail and is easy to paint. guages i printed on white paper and then topcoated with microscale krystalklear. I decided to add a rear speaker and a rear window defogger to the package tray. both detailed with decals for the grills. Edited February 16 by TheBEAUMONTGURU duplicate pictures 8 1
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Im going with some fireball F70-14s. with a hand painted whitwall. The hubcaps are fireball too, with my own custom made beaumont center decal 8 1
Nazz Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Hey DA, the Beaumont looks great! Are the decals available , I would like to get some for my Beaumont projects. Jerry
NerdmanB Posted February 18 Posted February 18 This is looking very nice. I got the parts from Canuck for a 67 and a 69. So will be using this as a reference. Question I found thi photo on the internet. Is this a stock hood I have looked at many photos of Beaumonts and haven’t seen another with this hood. Just wondering. Brian 2
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 Brian, no that picture is not a correct hood. looks like someone grafted on some GTO stuff. A beaumont always uses the same hood as a chevelle, either flat or with the BBC bulges. for all years of beaumont. 1
Steve H Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Very nice progress Dave! That is both a BOLD, and BEAUTIFUL colour combination. The black looks really nice. Your attention to detail is fantastic. My next project will be a Beaumont, your builds have been very inspiring. Thanks for sharing sir.
NerdmanB Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I figured the Beaumont guru would have the answer. I do like the way it looks though. Thanks for the info. Brian
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 (edited) Spur-of-the-moment decision to make some NC8 option "Chambered exhaust system". A factory option. So i cut off the mufflers and made some chambered pipe and the rear resonators from some leftover round sprue. I heated it with a candle to get the proper S-curve, thats why there are soot marks. You will also see my resin TH400(thanks to member Nobling) now grafted onto the kit BB. Edited February 19 by TheBEAUMONTGURU added info 6
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 I was torn on how to detail the 3d printed taillights and trim, i was finding it impossible to BareMetalFoil all the individual chrome strips and then have gaps around the lenses. So i glued in the lenses, then filled the whole thing with one piece of foil and detail painted the lenses with tamiya clear red. Overall i think it looks way cleaner than what could have been. The rest of the 3D printed part is super nice and crisp. making foiling and painting easy. I also detailed the grills with proper shades of grey, silver, chrome and black. that 3D printing on the script is out-a-this-world!! 5
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 This Revell kit is really nice but there are more than a few inaccurate things and headscratchers. I made my own proper 1969 alternator bracket. Thats a fireball Qjet. I scratchbuilt the fuel filter and line. 4
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Canadian cars seem to have a more basic older style wiper motor, so i made one from scratch. The kit part is on the left. 3
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Its gettin' there. Foil done and body polished. Black sucks to keep clean!!! 7
Steve H Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Very nice work David. Your attention to detail, and scratch building is outstanding.
DoctorLarry Posted March 11 Posted March 11 How do you print those dash decals? The detail is amazing!
TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted March 18 Author Posted March 18 Building a proper 325 HP automatic aircleaner, with proper heat riser ducting. I used a piece of solder and wrapped it with wire then painted it all black to look like corrugated hose. Getting more of the engine wiring and plumbing done here too 3
